McDermott and Beane had their shot.  It will be a travesty if Allen never wins a Super Bowl because of these two Bozo's.

The only way Allen wins a SB is by not being in Buffalo. Period.

This franchise is incapable of doing what's needed.

Fire the coaches now.  Tank for higher draft position.

New coaches need to specialize in versatility, strategy and aggressiveness.  No more coach-specific schemes that ignore what an opponent does on gameday.

Start purging the bad contracts.  First out the door are Curtis Samuel, David Edwards, Connor McGovern, AJ Epenesa, DaQuan Jones, Matt Milano, Taron Johnson, Taylor Rapp, Jordan Poyer, Tre White (most of these are free agents anyway).  Start looking for trade partners on Dion Dawkins, Greg Rousseau, Terrell Bernard and Christian Benford.  Dawson Knox takes a pay-cut or release.

Prioritize using free agent dollars and Day 1 picks on high-impact players.  Trade up if necessary.  No more significant contracts being given to mid-tier guys like Josh Palmer and Curtis Samuel.  No more using late 1st Rounders on guys who will peak as solid starters.  Be aggressive in obtaining high ceiling talent.  Day 1 is for getting All-Pro talent.  Day 2 is for getting starters.  Day 3 picks are for filling in the roster.

Have to cut the head off the snake, McD has to go and take his assistants with him

Same here.   McD has to go and the 2 linebacker defense becomes a bad memory.

One thing that burns me up is Beane’s admission at draft time to going all in to fix the defense. My question was the same then as it is now - but why? Why would you not do everything you can to support your all-world QB with every resource at your disposal? That’s your meal ticket. Unless it was to acquire a legit pass rusher (Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby), any other defensive additions were never going to be worth the squeeze. At least not like the return on investment you would’ve got continuing to fortify the offense. Just makes no sense to me.

a 70%+ win percentage for 6 years is mediocrity?   5 division titles in a row is mediocrity?    are you kidding?    you must not have been around for the drought; 7-9, 8-8, 6-10... now that is mediocrity... and it lasted for 20 years

and he had a new HC every 3 years and a number of GMs.

But no franchise QB

This is a different dynamic. We have a franchise, generational QB and a strong roster, but are missing the kill move.

A new HC/GM might be just what we need, especially as we've seen Beane squander picks and resign average players to big contracts. McDermott shows again and again he can't strategize and game plan to opponents.

If the Bills cant' get to the AFCC, let alone SB, this year, its time to bring in fresh blood.

And with that comes some house cleaning:

Bring in an Offensive HC - Klint Kubiak

Offense:

Cut/trade all WRs except Shakir and Kincaid

Let Knox go

Keep Oline intact at reasonable contracts

Draft a top WR, sign George Pickens

Defense:

Cut Milano, Daquan, Tre, Taron, Rapp

Start over at DE, with Trey Hendrickson and other FA signings. Top 2nd draft pick

FA LBs

FA S

It would work like this:

Sean, if we retain you we'll be independently be making all of the hiring decisions regarding your staff.

If that is not something you can live with, then I respect your principles but don't let the door hit ya' where the good lord split ya'.

lol

this all assumes he’s worth keeping.  After last nights uninspired mess, a strong argument can’t be made that he is.

how bout hire a guy who can bring in coordinators who aren’t sycophants he can toss under the bus when the Bills perennially fall short of expectations?

That's an argument I'm not willing to engage in at this point.

For the most part I think he's a good administrator who eventually learns from "most" of his mistakes, but he's also still an OCD micro-manager with a set in stone philosophy that does not maximize the value of the unicorn that has been dropped in his lap.

I don’t think they are firing Beane and McDermott (maybe Beane but not McDermott) but here a few somewhat realistic ideas that I think should happen:

-swap out both coordinators (prefer both from outside the org and not Daboll)

On Offense:

-Trade Keon Coleman and a 2nd to the eagles for AJ (Coleman needs a fresh start and Brown/eagles seems like it is

- Release Samuel, restructure Knox, let Moore walk

-Let Edwards walk, resign McGovern, trade Torrence (probably can’t pay him after next year and can get a 2nd or 3rd most likely. Have Anderson and the other backups along with a mid round draft pick compete for the 2 guard spots

On Defense

- try to bring bosa back if he will take a reasonable deal

- move Bernard to Milano spot and get a bigger middle linebacker

- explore moving Taron Johnson to saftey next to bishop if not cut him

- cut Rapp

Guys that should not be back next year on 😧 Hamlin, Rapp, Poyer,Ingram, White, Taron?, Milano, ogunjobi, jones, Phillips, Mathis, Solomon, Epenesa (Carter and Jackson probably don’t deserve it but need some additional play time)

where do you start to get this team right? I am at a loss. 62 years old and am at a loss. bills fan for 50 years...

He won't and you won't so given that you have nothing to do with making any of these decisions--decisions that will likely be far more incremental than the posts on this board demand, if any-- don't think too much.  Take a step back if need be. You are simply a passenger, not the pilot, for better or worse.

Cleaning house aside from trying to keep Kromer. My head coach hire is Kliff Kingsbury. He obviously knows offense and knows how to move the football. He’s the most obvious guy to have more success in his second go around. I don’t see him as a retread, I see him as a guy who had some success and some failure and will do better in a better situation. Someone will hire him this year and his success will on some level depend on his QB is. He’s done some really good things with Jayden Daniels.

He took the Cards to the playoffs with Kyler Murray missing multiple games, and receivers like a washed AJ Green and Greg Dortch and TBD favorite Andy Isabella behind DeAndre Hopkins who got hurt and was a big part of their late season collapse. He also has found very creative ways to utilize Zach Ertz, something he could do with Kincaid.

He needs to be paired with an experienced DC like Jim Schwartz. Maybe it’s a Flores or something, but I would target Schwartz.

Thats the move I make. Kliff maybe isn’t as kind and God fearing as McDermott, but to me he’s the kind of offensive coach who needs another shot and is a perfect pairing with Josh. He is able to maximize skill sets, and he has shown an implementation of more gap runs in Washington which shows that he has likely learned from some of his mistakes in Arizona and his vanilla zone scheme. Often these guys find success in a second go round and to me he’s the guy to target.

 We have good CB's.

Hairston appears to have promise, but is a rookie.  Cam Lewis was exposed yesterday at the end of the first half.  Taron and Tre are at end of useful life, Benford has regressed.  The way they have played this season, none of our CB's would be considered among the top CB's in the league, although our brain trust let Rasul Douglas walk and he is playing like a top CB once again.

And if Josh plays better for one series against the Chiefs last season we win. If he plays one series better last night we win. Yet I know easier to blame the coaches.
