HappyDays Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Hot take - this game is on the defense. Games that Houston lost this year: 9-14 19-20 10-17 19-27 15-18 They barely beat Tennessee last week 16-13. We just spent all of our most valuable resources in the offseason on the defense. We have a defensive head coach. If they can't win an ugly TNF scrapper against a bad offense, what is the point of all that? 1 2 Quote
Coach Tuesday Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The Thursday night product is terrible. Always. I was worried sick about injuries coming in and wasn’t surprised they got bullied and battered against a tough defense on the road on a short week. It’s just a really tough ask. As for the coaches, Brady is clearly limited but I just don’t know how much coaching is to blame here. The problem is personnel. It is a matchup league and the Bills have just not acquired enough matchup winners. That is on the GM. Maybe genius coaches steal another win or two or three maybe - but that’s asking a lot with how poor the personnel is especially on offense. I know folks are sick of McDermott but to me he’s not the villain and I worry about who would replace him. Brandon Beane, I would fire without hesitation. He is fully replaceable. Since he gave Allen the big dollars he has drafted terribly and they needed the exact opposite. He’s just not a very good GM. 3 1 Quote

Our entire O-line took turns being the pylon tonight. I told my wife after we watched Josh get sacked for the 7th time, Josh should look at the guys in the huddle and tell them "I f-ing hate all of you right now". Yeah, Dawkins has noticably regressed this year IMO. Quote
Andy1 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Blame for the loss should really be more on the offense tonight. They failed big tonight in all aspects. Edited 16 hours ago by Andy1 1 Quote

The only reason I don't agree, is because of Allen. I don't expect the oline to have another game like this one. That being said, it really sucks watching this team right now. They are painful to watch, at least every other week. Quote
co_springs_billsfan Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Remember when we'd have the division all but won and we'd be eyeing the potential wild card teams for who we wanted to play against? We're that potential wild card team now that the division winners will want to draw. Quote
MPL Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I think this defense could have been something this year if they had gotten more than exactly one half of football with Oliver, Hoecht, and Hairston on the field. And for that, I feel for McDermott. That being said, this team so desperately needs a new staff. 1 Quote

Then he became obsessed with beating the Chiefs and lost his mind. 1 Quote
Jerome007 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 7-4. It sucks. The Cheats are 9-2, even KC and the Ravens are coming back. Texans could have a tie breaker at the end. And on and on. None of that is fun in any way. But you guys act like the Bills were wiped off the map. The lost a super close one, and without the missed extra point, would have tied the game easy to go to OT. No, Pegula won't fire Beane and McD tonight. No Brady isn't fired after facing the #1 D. Best part of this game: Josh is still playing. He seemed done after that hit in the first half. A right wrist/elbow injury would be no fun though 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago My thoughts are that Beane has failed to get Allen the proper weapons and Allen is being forced into making bad decisions. Yes the offensive line was bad tonight but there is probably a time or 6 tonight that if anyone was open, Allen could have gotten it off without getting killed. It would also help if Allen from time to time just decides to throw the ball out of bounds. I get it most of the time it works but when the attack is coming that quick the clock has to tell you to play it smart until you can't anymore. Brady made some bone headed calls tonight for sure but I don't care who is calling this offense. We don't have adequate enough weapons and the offensive line was a joke tonight. On defense, this coaching staff refuses to get bigger and faster in the past and its catching up to them. They seem like they are finally learning their lesson by adding guys who can run in the secondary (Hairston, Bishop, Hancock) but they are still way too small at the 2nd level. Johnson is toast, Bernard hasn't been good before the injury and Milano is a shell of himself. I'm sure they were hoping for Dorian Williams to be that guy for Milano's spot but its looking like he'll be a solid backup only. There were also times that the entire defensive line in the first half was getting blown off the ball 2-3 yards by arguably one of the worst offensive lines in football but the Texans line looked like what the Bills line should be tonight. If this team is going to continue to run nickle, which they will as long as McDermott is here, Milanos and Johnson's spot needs to be upgraded as soon as possible. 1 Quote

Niagara Dude Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 32 minutes ago, Roundybout said: This roster is cooked. Beane failed to evolve past 2021. He was mentally broken by 13 seconds and has spent every season since trying to beat the Chiefs, without realizing that the league has completely caught up to it. There is nothing McD can do with this dog**** core. We realistically need to cut Johnson, Milano, and Tre. Bernard is atrocious but is probably very hurt. End of the day too many small and average speed defenders really no explosive players outside of Cook on offence. Speed matters and Texans have speed at all position on defence 1 Quote

First half was defence, but in totality was the offence by a fairly wide margin IMO 13 points isn't going to beat most teams in modern day NFL. Ya because 3 TO and giving up 3 FG only is terrible D.. the Bills lost because the Texans D was just really really good. 1 Quote
