That’d be a blast if they tampered. It’d be practically impossible to land a top coach if they lost a bunch of draft picks.

Daboll had success here because he had prime Josh, prime Diggs, and prime Beasley.

 

Possibly, but man the dude was aggressive. I miss that kind of offense. It comes down to McDermott though. Im not a Brady fan by any means, but this is complimentary football and McD has a governor on how fast he wants the offense to run/score. He likes slow methodical drives to rest his horrible defense. Add in the fact we have no WR's that can separate so I guess theyve sewn their own fate. This is what they want and when its bad, its really bad. Allen is a game manager now pretty much. Thats the really crappy part of it all.

Well the friction between McDermott and him makes sense now. Between that, him storming into the medical tent to push his QB on to the field, and now this - seems Daboll is a bit of a problem behind the scenes.

 

I don't think you'll see him back here in any role.

As soon as I saw this news, I assumed that people on the board would be calling for him to return. But, that is not going to happen. Not under the current regime at least.

It sounds like he’s a real mixed bag. Players here seemed to like him but when you are winning…. 
 

 

that article was so messy that I don’t doubt he had issues but of what scope who knows. Having the preview/header lead with that he exploded and threatened Kafka then to in the next paragraph elaborate that it was threatening to take over playcalling was bush league. Likewise citing that he “gave a death stare” to a coordinator on the sideline once a few years ago. 
 

no doubt he had blow ups but if a dirty look during a game 3-4 years ago was in the top ten list it all seems forced to create a narrative coming from the organization. 
 

he sucked in the role, and losers end up with their story told by others.

That article is trash. They're probably not 100% wrong but it was poorly written and likely speculation and drawn out nonsense.

I clicked (of course the goal of the writer) expecting to read that Daboll came across the table at someone in a meeting but turns out he said he would take playcalling away?

I think unless there is a complete 180 degree turn on the offense, Brady has a better shot of being fired than a HC somewhere.

 

And this is the exact reason I said he was a fool for removing himself from consideration for the Saints HC job last year. You can go from hot commodity to forgotten about in the blink of an eye.

Even if McDermott didn't directly order Brady to craft an offense that complemented his defense, that desire has obviously asserted itself. Unbelievably, he and Beane have made an MVP quarterback in his prime into a game manager. The entire planet Earth sees what a waste this is except these two, whose vision will forever be fixated on a) 4-man pressure on a Mahomes; b) a bend don't break defense; c) a running game that eats the clock and keeps the defense fresh. 

 

To me, this kind of team is deeply boring and outdated even if it comes to fruition. What's awful is that it hasn't. Beane's d-line still isn't elite despite all those investments, McDermott's defense can't tackle, and the receivers aren't good enough even for a possession offense. With an all-world QB like Allen, they will make the playoffs every year, but even he can't carry a team that hasn't given him enough to work with, much less thrive.

100% agree until the McBean regime is finally put out to pasture we will just be banging our heads against the wall every year in the same Groundhog Day manner we’ve been. We had the easiest schedule I can remember with Kansas City and Baltimore struggling early and we can’t take advantage as per usual. We blow games we shouldn’t and nothing in me thinks anything will be different in the playoffs. I almost feel like we should just write a petition to Pegula to get rid of these two clowns and finally get a regime that will support and elevate our once in a lifetime quarterback. I don’t even care if it means bringing in a familiar face like Daboll to run the show. Not my first choice but I know he and Josh will work well together and he’ll get him what he needs.
