People forget just how many times his rush lanes and undisciplined sellout pass rushes cost us massive plays that lost several games. I think von is probably a good teammate in the locker room but his play style since his injury was and still is extremely selfish on a team that was so close to getting a one seed. He was all about his sack stats, knowing full well the cost for the team of taking egregious angles and losing contain. Obviously im not saying hes the sole reason we lost those games but ill never forget watching him sellout several times to get Jalen hurts and with his angle ended up 4 yards behind hurts and hurts lightly jogging to pick up huge 1st downs to keep drives alive. Bosa definitely sells out for pass rush pretty often but you will see him hesitate and string out rbs to the sideline occasionally, von never did that, or at least never put in 100% effort to do it. 1 1 Quote
Maine-iac Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago For all the focus on pass rushing DT's we draft stiff pocket collapsing DE's not bendy, twitchy pass rushers. Most of the DE's we draft are 25 pounds away from being the same DT's we draft. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I honestly forgot he's still playing. He's not winning that elusive 3rd Super Bowl with three different teams in Washington. Quote
Lake Ontario Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I wouldn't trade any of our 4 2025 rotating Edge players for him straight up. (Solomon excluded) Quote

Then they hired Mouse McNally a famed OL coach. The line either stayed the same or got worse. What I learned from this is that talent is even more important than scheme. Agree. Talent and scheme win SBs. Beane gets a lot of flack for players not performing to their draft status in the 1st round, but I would guess every other GM in the National Football League has drafted similar players but earlier in the 1st round. Plus, drafting at the end means you get leftovers. Do we really think we can do better than Beane? Quote
PonyBoy Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Well .... Vons had more sex than me this season than I've had since the drought.. Oh ..Sacks...nevermind 😞 2 Quote
Nuncha Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Did any of his 4 sacks come at a crucial time in a game? Probably all in garbage time. The dude is washed. Quote
SCBills Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Bosa, Hoecht, Rousseau and AJ are better than him right now. Quote
ControllerOfPlanetX Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I thought he was in line to be the next GM? Quote
gobills404 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago He had 8 sacks in his first 10 games for us in 2022. I’m no doctor but I have hunch that tearing his ACL at 33 years old might be what held him back. Quote
BVBILLS Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Are we still paying Vons contract, or the cap hit? Quote

finn Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Watch him get ten sacks. That'll put a bow on the whole debacle. 1 Quote
billsfan714 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Seems like his snaps are way up in Washington that it was here, they're playing him more than we did. And no I dont miss Von one bit. Quote
BillytheKid Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Hoecht had 2 sacks and 6 pressures in his first game. The most pressures of anyone in the game. Having him in there with Bosa, Rousseau, Deon Walker is helping a lot. 3 Quote
NickelCity Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It is deeply unsurprising that Von is having a serviceable year. He's not on our team due to a confluence of injury and contract. Quote

I praised it in the moment. I have ripped him for not making the trade for Miller the year before. Von was playing great before the knee injury. Quote
