It  hurt a lot that Josh took 3 years to develop. This board, and you’d have to imagine the Bills organization. was still having discussions on if Josh was the guy after that early 2020 playoff loss in Houston. The Pats are able to go all in now because they have this season and next before they need to consider paying Maye.

When it comes to Allen who cares what this board thinks - there were a lot of bad takes on draft night and through Allen's first 2 seasons.

It was apparent to the Bills that Allen was the guy at the end of his rookie season when they tried to upgrade the O in 2019.  As others have noted though the strategic thrust of the Bills was building a Super Bowl Defense with the offense as an after thought.  By the end of Allen's 2nd season the Bills were fully committed and went out and traded for Diggs.  Allen paid them off with an all pro level season and a trip to the AFC championship game.

It appears to me that the Pats are doing for Maye what the Bills should have dome for Allen.

Now I’m really sick to my stomach… How did they build that team up so quickly?!!! I can’t believe this!😂

because the 37 year rebuild is make believe

if you have rookie contract qb that’s playing even fringe top 10 and you’ve pushed chips in around him you are basically there instantly.

So do we think there will many moves after this weekends games leading into the final day of the trade deadline?

Do teams wait until the prices go higher for teams desperate for a player/position? teams waiting to see if their season has a final nail in the coffin? or both?

Shaheed is who would be most realistic, and would help Josh and Bills passing game the most, is so obvious to all, even non Bills Mafia.

I stand my my prediction, if Bills add Shaheed, and stay healthy, they are winning the Super Bowl.

He was "limited" in practice today. Just sayin

There is a lot of smoke with Buffalo and Shaheed.  Its a very good match of Bils #1 need and Shaheeds skill set.  Not to mention Shaheeds excellent return ability. Shaheeds sister tweeted something about Buffalo and Shaheed.  Beane might be hardheaded with WRs, but hes not stupid.  Bills Mafias demands for a speed WR are deafening and ubiquitous.  Get Shaheed ASAP.  Then get us another DT.  Harrison Phillips would be great.  First get Shaheed, he should be the upmost priority.

"ESPN's Ben Solak, in a new article out Wednesday, is urging the Bills to go after Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker."

He signed a big deal last year.  I think his extension makes his salary like 16 million for the next two years.

i am pretty sure the bills are not going to trade draft picks for a 29 year old safety making 16 million a year.

the cost to acquire him for this season is 3.5 Million, which we could handle

Shaheed + Baker trades would be a home run for us.   I don't expect it though

Myles Garrett to NE is a crazy sounding rumor out there. I don't get how it would be possible for the Browns.

Yea that one seems far fetched but AJ Brown to the pats does not seem far fetched to me.

Mike florio was hinting yesterday that the eagles are sort of under the radar shopping aj brown and he said the pats are the fit because of vrabels past with him.

Effectively we have two issues; player deficiencies and less than 2 mil in cap space to play with. You are likely looking at giving at least a 2nd for a player because you’d need to send Samuel the other way.

Did the same thing for Josh Allen

we literally brought in John Brown cole beasley diggs tried fixing the line.. even gabe was like the fourth option on some of those teams

The problem is Josh wasn't ready to take full control in year 3 to win a super bowl.. the Chiefs playoff game was too much for him and the team

The Patriots don't have enough to get it done this year either they're falling short in the playoffs

Come on man the Bills went 13 - 3 and made it to the AFC Championship game.  Allen was more then ready.  And for the record, there was a lot of skepticism about Brown & Beasley among Bills fans and the national media, saying both WR's had seen better days.

Just because we were regular season Killers doesn't mean the team and everybody is ready to take the next step

Go back and rewatch that game.

The entire offense was put on Josh Allen .. with four good wide receivers

Gabe Davis was our number four with 500 yd and like six touchdowns

We had more plays we're under 50% third down conversion .. only handed the ball off to running backs like nine times

The entire game was put on Josh Allen

And he wasn't as crisp as Patrick mahomes the team was not ready

That's not hyperbole the chiefs were already in the playoffs for years and years and years before that and were much more playoff ready .. we literally just got our first playoff winning like 18 years that same season

if you look at Josh's stat line it was great but that doesn't tell the tale of the tape of the third down percentage.. the yards per play.. the points scored... We had more plays an less time of possession The entire game was put on Josh Allen's hands..

But he absolutely had good wide receivers and the team was vastly improved from his rookie year building it the same way the Patriots are now

They just did not have the experience to get past the more experienced team

We've had less talent recently than that team and gone just as far because Josh has grown

Josh was very comfortable with John Brown something he's never gotten with any other wide receiver outside of diggs and Beasley... And now shakir but Shakir doesn't even have the numbers John Brown did in his healthy season

Healthy John Brown from 2020-2021 would be our number one wide receiver now

But the Bills DID do that for Allen early on. They brought in vets like Beasley and Brown. Made the big Diggs trade. The issue has been that when we lost one of these guys we replaced them with a guy that's just not quite as good.

I don't think the Bills did near as much for Allen in year 2 as NE has done for Maye.

I do agree that we have replaced those productive WR's with increasingly ineffective receivers.
