Really hoping to be back in 1st place by Sunday night.

The Pats hype this week has been unreal.  "Rebuild complete!  Maye is top 3!  They're baaaack!!!"

Cripes. They beat us in a refball game, and beat the Saints & Titans.

Lost in all the chaos of the last few losses is how ridiculously frustrating the defensive tackle depth has been this season. Despite having what appeared to be a surplus of servicable players, so much so that we were struggling to contemplate how to roster them all, yet we now find ourselves (once agan) relying of practice squad level talents.

Another Phidaruan Mathis game? Big Phil? Just insane. Between the O gun suspension, mystery ed injury, Carter and Sanders IR, and recent DaQaun Jones injury, I think week 1 was the last time we have a full complement of rosterable players at the position. This is almost unbelievable considering the recent investments into the position.

Just sign Zion to the roster already. He is by far the best option, but out of elevations.

This is what I mean when I talk about McDermott's "Week to Week" designation being a long term injury.

He listed Milano, Bernard, and Kincaid as "Day to Day" injuries after the Falcons game. Weeks later and none of them have gotten a Full Practice and they're all Questionable for Sunday.

Day to Day could be multiple weeks and Week to Week could be as many 4 (as we saw with Oliver) or more.

Hmm I guess I am mistaken.

Decent #2, but I think Buffalo is much better overall in the TE department. Kelce is washed and Gray has never really taken that next step people thought he would to replace him.

Hawes gives the Bills so much more versatility because he can block as well as a linemen. I feel like Knox has lost a step, but could still be deadly if Brady knew how to use him. If Kincaid could just stay healthy he has big time potential. No one has elevated themselves as Allen’s go to receiver.

I also don’t understand why the offense itself is not centered more around the TEs, one of the bigger strengths of the team. Joe Brady needs to go watch some old Gronk/Hernandez footage to see how to use multiple TEs and a WR room full of slow slot receivers.

I hear it nonstop in New Hampshire. We should have kept Mack Hollins.

IDK. I think Mahomes would rather have Tyreek Hill and a prime Kelce instead of JuJu, Kelce’s bloated corpse, and a couple speedsters. Yes, they might be adequate for that specific offense, but compared to the league they are mid to lower middle tier.

Disagree, respectfully. Sure, a PRIME Tyreek Hill is preferred to MOST alternatives tbh. That's no secret. And when that was combined with a PRIME Kelce, watch out.

But the current group includes the kinds of RAC and speed traits that Reid is amazing at scheming for. Rice is a beast for what KC wants him to be, which is a big, fast, strong weapon who gets the ball in motion and matriculates it aggressively up the field. Hollywood Brown is a fast and ballsy undersized threat on slants and curls and fades alike. Worthy is a speed merchant who lacks physicality but does seem to have some moxy and compete nonetheless. Smith-Schuster is the perfect possession complement to that group, and they still have the dumb, effective ghost of Travis Kelce. Plus Thornton and Remigio offer depth.

Brown, Worthy, and Rice is a STRONG starting WR group for Andy Reid. He loves to attack horizontally and vertically, with tons of pre- and post-snap motion, and those dudes can do that.

This is KC's version of "Everyone Eats."

Actually agree with that. Team glue guys are fundamental to a team. Not saying there isn’t one on it right now but if there is it’s certainly hard to distinguish who…

It was a very shrewd signing by NE, he is worth the money as a WR4, special teams ace and his unique vibes. In addition to that he delivered when it mattered (KC playoffs TD) and he was injury free. He is the ideal counterbalance to the Diggs and his perceived drama as well.

He also has a PR value which engages well with the casual NFL fan. His one year as a Buffalo Bill was really good (for the non stats obsessed fans) and we are missing him this year, he is a different kind of leader in the locker room.

Here's a question that might deserve its own thread: What do you think Reid would do with the Bills offensive personnel? I'm assuming he could do a superior job to Brady, who I'm beginning to think is a one-trick pony ("Let's run!"), but I'm not sure how.

I'm a stats guy - not obsessed, but Hollins was our leading TD receiver in 2024 - he had 5.  Our 3 RB's had 8 between them.

Is it just me, or after a two game losing streak against pretty mediocre teams, and 36 or so hours before a road game, maybe I'd rather he wasn't at the World Series?

Given what’s ahead of us and the Patriots* resurgence, if we lose tomorrow, we’re doomed.

This. We are not beating the Chiefs. Lose tomorrow and we are 4-4 and the Division hopes are pretty much gone. Hoping for the Browns to do something miraculous but not counting on it. Who would have thought that this Panthers game would be this massive.

Just like Belichick would put 3/4 of his team as questionable every week
