Big Blitz Posted yesterday at 09:51 PM Posted yesterday at 09:51 PM This Josh Simmons story is ominous. Here is what we know: -- Chiefs listed him as "questionable" hours before the game two weeks ago with "illness." He played. -- This past weekend, per Underdog, Mahomes showed up for the game and noticed his left tackle wasn't there. -- A report came out that some coaches didn't know where he was. -- Earlier that day, Simmons deleted his IG (could be nothing). -- The Chiefs announced Simmons would miss the game for "personal" reasons. -- SiriusXM initially said "family reasons," but some reporters have since indicated that might not be the case. -- Andy Reid has said multiple times he won't comment and doesn't know when Simmons will return. -- Mahomes said he is praying for Simmons. -- Reid said the GM is now "handling" the matter, indicating the team is considering some kind of roster move. 3 Quote
DJB Posted yesterday at 10:07 PM Posted yesterday at 10:07 PM As much as I hate the Chiefs like the next Bills fan, if this kid has something personal going on I wish him nothing but the best 9 9 Quote
Brand J Posted yesterday at 10:10 PM Posted yesterday at 10:10 PM I shed no tears for the Chiefs organization. If Simmons isn’t right mentally, I hope he gets all the help he needs away from football. 5 1 Quote
boyst Posted yesterday at 10:13 PM Posted yesterday at 10:13 PM Two things of note. One of the tweets says to forget he's protecting the best quarterback in the league. That's easy to do because that's bull####. And most importantly I really hope he is okay and everything works out because this is scary sounding. 1 1 Quote
RoscoeParrish Posted yesterday at 10:25 PM Posted yesterday at 10:25 PM His backup played a lot better than he did. Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted yesterday at 10:26 PM Posted yesterday at 10:26 PM I wish the best for the young man … sounds like there’s some serious issues at play here 2 Quote
stevestojan Posted yesterday at 10:39 PM Posted yesterday at 10:39 PM Work (in this case for him, playing football) always comes second to family and/or mental health. I feel awful for these young men who need to miss work for one of those two things and it becomes a national news story. Can’t make it any easier. All the best to him. 1 1 Quote
Walking Tall Posted yesterday at 10:45 PM Posted yesterday at 10:45 PM (edited) We all know the Chiefs are more concerned about the kids well being than they are with what he can offer them on the field. Their track history shows that. Edited yesterday at 10:46 PM by Walking Tall 1 Quote
Shortchaz Posted yesterday at 10:46 PM Posted yesterday at 10:46 PM Anyone seen Richie Incognito ? Quote
GunnerBill Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Hmmm. I will hope it is just a super personal issue hence the mystery. The kid can play. Quote
YoloinOhio Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I just heard about this but he had mental issues in college and did not really love football. Hopefully he’s ok but I would not expect him to return anytime soon. Quote
Billl Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Based on absolutely nothing other than a wild guess that would connect a lot of dots, I think he’s in rehab. He had surgery a year ago, and pain pills can be a MFer. He seems like a great kid. Whatever it is, I hope he comes out of it in a good place. 3 3 Quote
90sBills Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago It could just be a family matter that he doesn’t want to disclose to the public. Good luck to him and his family. Quote
metbill Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Hopefully the kid gets whatever it is straightened out. My BIGGEST takeaway from this story is obviously the Chiefs organaztion has never consulted with McDermott for any type of advice or they would know, rookies are not to be played, just drafted and whispered about in the shadows Quote
juno999 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I hope the kid is alright. Many people dealing with all sorts of things these days. Quote

Pete Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago It’s between Simmons and those that need to know. We don’t need to know. Poor kid is probably having mental issues- just my uninformed conjecture. 1 1 Quote
