Can we trust her at this point? I feel like she has missed on this a few times

She’s a winner…..as long as we keep clicking.

Inquired and “in on” are two different things

Olave is a fantastic player but he’s on the Tua timeline with those concussions and that worries me a bit

So was Mitch Morse.

Theres some stuff I don’t necessarily trust this FO/Staff with and other I very much do.

If they think he’s worth the long term investment .. because if we can convince NO to move him, it won’t be cheap, and he’d be extended here .. I trust them on this.

Meyers makes this receiver room competent, but kind of clunky without a guy who “takes the top off” theoretically.  Palmer can.  Meyers can. But it’s not their thing.  Wed at least have a guy opposite Palmer to do what we hoped Keon could do for us.

Olave makes this Offense, on paper, an absolute wagon.   Legit WR1, WR2, Slot, RB1, Good TE’S, Elite OL and Elite QB.

Agree with the first statement. Inquiring is a long way off, in on. That’s just doing due diligence and seeing what the market is.

The concussions don’t worry me at all.

I want this to be true even if the Saints aren't trading him for the simple reason that it shows Beane understands the need for a WR1 on this team.  Now, Meyers........not even remotely as interesting.  But if he's calling on Olave, hopefully that means he's calling on other bigger name WRs.  But, of course, as already mentioned calling on and being in on are 2 very different things.  He could call the Vikings about JJ, but that doesn't mean they are in on acquiring him.

We'll see what happens, if anything, but a trade for a true WR1 is very difficult to pull off this time a year.  But I think there is a real chance our WRs get exposed again tomorrow as not being able to get open down the field and that should only increase the urgency.  But who knows.....  I just wish we could get some further confirmation that this report is even true.  She seems to be the only one saying it as of now.

Is a Russini "in on" equivalent to a Merrill Reese "Ertz is going to Buffalo"?

🤔🤨

To be fair, an Ertz trade was agreed to but then someone on the Eagles organization nixed it last minute. Ertz has even made public that he was told he was going to Buffalo. So, that wasn't actually a false rumor

Meyers would be nothing but another mid WR to add to the rest of our mid WRs. Please God, do not trade for this guy.

Trouble is most of our mid WR’s are injured and unavailable. Mid is overrating the ones on the field. Meyers is at least an NFL WR. That’s where we’re currently at with this group. A true WR1 is likely not available.

I don't think Meyers would be a good use of resources and I think we can probably get someone that offers more value to us for less cost. But Meyers would at least be an upgrade. Just think there's some diminishing returns with him.

I 🤮 when we drafted Keon and I will 🤮 if we get Meyers.  Shaheed, Olave, Waddle or bust

We don’t need anymore mediocre WRs - we lead the NFL with mediocre WR already

Time for a new Ertz thread

No way Miami would give him up, but I would love to get waddle

I would too, but aside from Miami not trading him, I think he costs a day 2 pick. I don't know where that mid-rounder price comes from the other fella is speculating. Shaheed will probably cost you a third, and he's the most plausible option out there.

We will probably trade for Meyers, he will have a few good games the rest of season, then we'll set way too high expectations for him and he'll post a 3-35 stat line in a losing playoff game and we'll be back to square one.

I just mentioned in another thread, trade a 2nd, 4th and 4th in 2027, possibly an RVD to the Titans for Jeffery Simmons , Calvin Ridley and Amani Hooker. Heck, I'd make it a first.

Perfect trade partner, perfect time. All 3 areas of need.
