ChevyVanMiller Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He said he had caught balls in the stands before and the Bills took them back and promised replacement footballs - then reneged. This time the team came through. https://www.wivb.com/bills-mafia-buffalo-fans/bills-fan-who-caught-football-shares-his-story/?fbclid=IwY2xjawNSO_9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHp8903G9tLsVEG3q3QVlZNBj-NTUPh_alQcdBub20GJ_DXI_7pcBiv84F9SD_aem_vMLJUVuhJdAO0-XfXDeoOQ 1 Quote

Or could it be that wasn’t his wife? 😂 1 7 Quote

In fact, in a weird way, I feel like catching a home run at a MLB game would be better. 1 1 Quote

He was making sure that the football was going to remain in his possession. 4 Quote
VaMilBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think the call from Mike Tirico in national television is well worth way more than the ball (original ball or not). I mean he has a party story for life with Tirico calling him out of the stadium 2 3 2 Quote

It would be huge if you were like 10, but this guy looks to be in his 40s. Didn't even get to keep the ball that Allen threw, which would be the main reason to want one. To each his own, I guess. 1 Quote
ChevyVanMiller Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I wonder, when a player scores a touchdown and then throws the ball high up into the stands, does the team also send representatives to try to get those balls back as well? 1 Quote

stevewin Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It's funny, before the game in warm-ups a ball went into the stands in the EZ and security was asking for it back and the guys in front of me were pissed yelling to let him have it and booing. Eventually the guy threw it back. The the 1st NE field goal went over the net and someone caught it and the guys started screaming 'RUN WITH IT! RUN WITH IT" and the image made me laugh - didnt think someone at the game would actually do it lol. When I was in college I went to a Florida Gator game on a road trip and was sitting in the EZ and caught a long field goal. I didn't think of running and threw it back 😛 1 Quote

Yes, they are always sending someone to retrieve any single game ball in the stands 1 Quote
BillsVet Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Perhaps it's a new policy, but circa 2008-09 I saw game balls overthrown into the EZ and no official demanded them back. One woman had one in the row behind us and a friend caught one. Could see that changing in the ensuing years. 1 Quote

How they get some stats like MPH, etc... I suppose... Quote
ddaryl Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago charge us $300+ for a seat, I'm keeping the damn ball. 1 1 Quote
DaggersEOD Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I believe each team has a set number of game balls that were essentially broken in by each team / QB. I'm sure they are broken in to Josh's preference. It's not like they break out a fresh ball every time they need a new one. So I'm sure they are more to the organization than a $60 (or whatever they cost) ball. Or maybe this is a throwback rule from deflategate lol Quote

DrDawkinstein Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yep I knew exactly why he ran, and given the way the game went, he made the right decision. Especially as a season ticket holder. Quote
