BullBuchanan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago When you turn the ball over 3 times, it's highly unlikely that you win that game. For me, that's the only significant take away from the game. Allen didn't look like himself out there today. 1 1 Quote
Shortchaz Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This stuff is getting really boring after 5 years. We’re never going to win with McDermott because he doesn’t put winning first. That’s all that needs to be said. 1 Quote

The loss is on the offense. Turning the ball over, bad penalties, and lack of run game hurt them Defense was okay, not great. Gave up around the Pats average ppg this season. Offensively the Bills were just plain bad. Definitely an L you can place at the feet of the offense. Quote

We’re not going to be in a better position next year than we are right now, along with how the rest of the AFC is shaking out. I’ll be truly disgusted if we don’t end up making a few very high profile trades by the deadline. LOL…how much cap space do you think we have to make these “few high profile” trades? Quote

He’s beyond a liability, he cannot cover a pee-wee receiver. I hope to god that Hairston is starting soon because this is insanity. It says a lot about Beane that we have to resort to Tre. Im not happy with tres play at all...but that PI against Diggs to me was bull####! Edited 1 hour ago by Dafan 1 Quote

He is a one trick jump ball pony. Shakir is great in the slot, but we don't have a boundary wide receiver as good as a 30 plus year old Diggs coming off a torn ACL last season. I know we had limited dollars to acquire a WR for last season and this season, but Samuel and Palmer seem like wasted investments. Secondary has been bad, but I see almost no chance that the Bills try to trade for a CB. That would be an admission by the front office that signing White and drafting Max and Strong was a poor use of available resources this offseason. Linebacker is a big concern now, particularly if Williams' injury is long term and Milano goes on IR. We have no depth at this position. We need 2 CBs. 1 to start right now, and 1 to finish when we lose 1 due to injury. This season is pretty much a repeat if McD tries to do the split time thing with White and Hairston, like he was planning with Strong and White. White needs to be off the field. Benford and Rapp are also huge liabilities with injuries. We need multiple secondary players asap. Quote
LEBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 47 minutes ago, HappyDays said: I understand every team has flaws, there are maybe no powerhouses this year, certainly not in the AFC. What annoys me is that I think we could have been the powerhouse. I was not a fan of the team building strategy this offseason, at all. We spent almost all of our resources on McDermott's side of the ball and left the MVP with scraps. Surprise surprise, the defense looks the same as it did last year and a historically mistake-free offense is reverting to the mean. That was an easy outcome to predict and the people in charge didn't see it coming. I still think we are just one legit outside WR away from being an offense that can steamroll teams. That to me was the best chance we had of being a powerhouse team. Score 35+ every single game. The goal this year is to be the #1 seed. Don't look now but the Colts have an easy peasy schedule the rest of the year while we have some tough opponents after the bye. They and the Lions look like the best teams in the NFL right now and it's not with dominant defense, it's with offenses that are steamrolling their opponents and running up the score. That's how you win a Super Bowl in the modern era. I'm worried that we blew it in the offseason and I have no reason to think McDermott and Beane are going to learn from their mistake. They still have a chance to rectify it. If they trade for a CB at the deadline I'll know they haven't learned. They need to make a trade at the only position that will make a legit difference to the outcome of games. When Maye got out of the pocket tonight he had his guy working open. Diggs turned back the clock tonight. When Allen got out of the pocket he was holding holding holding the ball and nobody was separating. That is where the biggest room for improvement still exists on the roster and I really hope Beane can see it, his little WGR rant notwithstanding. Happy you know they won’t rectify the lack of receiving talent this year and maybe not until Beane is mercifully gone. In addition to being tight up to the cap, the two times they have tried bringing receivers in mid-season (Coop and Benjamin), it has worked out poorly. So they will be skittish about doing it again. Im not sure any receiver is really going to be available anyway. Maybe Olave? I know you are a Shaheed fan (as am I) - and him being a returner may entice the Bills to try it - but I don’t think he alone can fix the problem…. now if we got both 🫠 It’s very simple though. Your MVP QB gets more out of the talent given to him than your defensive coaching staff. So give him everything and let the offense be great like you said. That we have only marginally invested in pass catchers for Josh is fireable and will be what is pointed to forever if this regime cannot win it all with the best player in the world. I don’t think they can see that outcome as they scramble to plug weaknesses rather than improve our strengths. 1 1 Quote
buffalo2218 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago As far as I'm concerned, Babich to me is on the same seat Dorsey was a couple of years back. McDermott needs to swallow his pride and show Babich the door same as Dorsey. We got good results switching to Brady 1 Quote

You can't win consistently with that poor talent at any position in the NFL. And we can barely get any type of pass rush. But to blame this loss on Josh is absurd. The guy has so little to work with on offense. And I think he knows that. He looked exhausted at the end. Kincaid was good tonite. But the receivers do nothing down the field. Any YAC is Shakir catching a swing pass out of the backfield. I don't think this coaching staff is smart enough to make the adjustments needed to make this a Super Bowl contending team. The defense looks confused pre snap every week. They don't know where to line up or who to cover. This should not be happening in week 5. The team seems to have tuned out the coaching staff, and are just going through the motions. Thinking Josh will bale them all out. And he sure as hell tries. But you can only do so much as a one man team. 1 Quote

TheBrownBear Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Pretty good stuff. Agree with most everything except the Brady criticism. The penalties and early turnovers hamstrung the offense in the first half and Josh refused to take the easy stuff (at least to my eye) on the final field goal drive. I don't see the offense as feast or famine as you suggest - we've been one of the most efficient offenses in the league this year and under Brady generally. This is what it looks like when you shoot yourself in the foot. The Bills formula is not making mistakes while letting the other team beat themselves. We didn't do that tonight and in a league where every team is so close, you can only get away with that kind of sloppiness against the worst teams. The most glaring issues remain the lack of real WR talent and the secondary, and those are mostly personnel/Beane issues. Quote
