I know you said don’t ask, but… come on… story?

Long story, a giant fight broke out at a party, I got stabbed during it, a friend was hit over the head with a bat, much more chaos. The guy went to prison for a long time. He was apparently the prime suspect in a murder at the time with a hatchet. They added attempted murder from our situation. He may still be there. I stopped paying attention like 15 years ago. That’s the really short version.

I’m not going to judge anyone in this situation, but this is exactly why I’m far more passive than I used to be. I’d never escalate any disagreement, because people are so soft, anyone could take the smallest issue to the next level.

Wisdom of age.

Living in the south especially, I assume everyone is carrying.

Some of the road rage interactions I watch people have are truly baffling.
So much anger and aggression just waiting for a chance to be triggered over completely pointless reasons.

HAD to stab him? Unless Sanchez had a weapon too, that's quite a stretch

   Size and strength matter.
Assuming the guy maybe wasn’t nearly as big or physically capable as a former NFL player he may well have had to. Don’t know the particulars but escalations of force is not unthinkable

It depends on your priorities, such as how much do you value living near close friends and family (assuming you have said people in your life).

And I have student loans. Not affording them is not an option unless I'm ready for things to get ugly for me, legally speaking.

Crazy story.  I’m glad you are ok Bills Brother.  If a knife hit an organ, that’s fatal.  My friend was in the Special Forces, and he told me they were trained to take a knife in the forearm, if attacked.

The problem is violence has become an acceptable response to political expression or rhetoric that someone disagrees with. Sadly the policies of DAs, judges and the people that keep electing them, prioritize criminals instead of hardworking taxpayers(victims). Cashless bail, not prosecuting violent crimes, defunding and diminishing law enforcement encourages this dangerous trend.

That's a major problem in NYS, which has lead to the downfall of many of our community, forcing the working class out while the shitbums multiply. Indiana is not like that, at all.

My girlfriend is from there and her mother doesn't even have to check if it's the 1st or 15th before she heads to the grocery store, it’s nice.

That’s a fact. I was at a traffic light in Clermont, FL where two guys were raging and arguing. One got out and put about five rounds in the other’s car.  Crazy and stupid.

Most likely. Knives are more dangerous than many think. Two decades ago I was outside a bar smoking with some random chick. A dude grabbed her purse and took off, I chased him and grabbed it, and he turned around and stabbed me in the gut. MD at the ER told me that if I didn’t have mesh in my abdomen from a previous surgery the stab wound probably would have been fatal.

I salute your bravery to chase the attacker, in my younger days I would have done the same. However, it’s just not worth it nowadays, you don’t know what someone else is carrying and nothing is worth risking my kids growing up without a father.

I live in the Uk btw, so you guys in America don’t have a monopoly on violent crime. I don’t wear a nice watch when I go to work in London anymore, knife crime is out of control in some areas, I hate to think the state that the country would be in if we had guns too

I don’t know the details so I’ll just wish he and his family the best, and the jokes btw aren’t funny.  A man was stabbed.  Whether he fumbled a lot or not, he’s still a human being.

They arrested Mark Sanchez. Pretty bizarre. Maybe he’s not innocent in all of this. If a guy that size came after me idk… at 38 you shouldn’t be getting yourself in these situations

Depends on who has them.  I live in one of the highest gun ownership per capita areas in the nation and it is very safe.

another man was assaulted before he first pepper sprayed and then stabbed his assailant who was acting erratically.  that assailant has now been arrested.

those are the details so far.

Imagine you are nearly 70 and working nights driving a grease truck, making you rounds to the back alleys of restaurants and you have to also deal with drunk washed up former athletes while you'r just trying to take away the restaurants dirty frying oil.....

Classic trolling post right here. Well done.

I would imagine the jobs that don't require a person to be there will be replaced with AI sooner than later.

That’s where it was. It ended up as defensive wounds. I still have a pretty big scar but not as bad as it was. I was extremely fortunate.

Absolutely agree with all of the above. Good for you and good luck!

We are on a similar track.

It’s the morning after that can be difficult…. In a few different ways😈

Awesome!  Where in Europe are you?
