Yep. And a false start.

He was poor last night. Two penalties, two bad FG snaps, whiffed block. I think this might be his last year.

I still say that flag was BS. How can you call FS on the snapper? They play starts when he snaps the ball! Did he bob his head like a center does in away games? WTF!

Well, that does it, we won't possibly make the Super Bowl and it will be Reid Freguson's fault. How could Beane draft him?! And McD can't coach the offense at all!

Am I doing this right??

Hey, we’re 4-0, let’s find something to B word about! SMDH….

Yes all is fine with the team. Even McDermott woudl preach continuous improvement.  But let's wait for a blocked punt to address it...

Well what are we on, the 4th special teams coach in 8 years. So maybe he is or has gotten poor coaching on technique to help with the gaps. And maybe his snapping has become less accurate.

Of all the resources spent on special teams LS is more important and certainly more specialized than a gunner.

Yup, Reid Furguson is the problem, not bad tackling, not the lack of a pass rush, not the inability to stop the run.

Reid Ferguson is a problem.  The Defense is a problem.  They are not mutually exclusive

I think there’s something to this.  He floated a snap on a punt from the tunnel side against Miami, which I firmly believe led to Miami going hard after the punt on which they took the penalty.  Same deal in this game.  I get NO needed the block, but they sold out like they had it.  Couple that with the worm burner on the FG and he has not had a good couple of weeks.  The operation is slow and it’s an issue.

Ask the Giants of about 25 years ago that question.  Cost them a playoff game.

I have wondered whether teams might change up how they kick. What would happen if the placekick was placed an extra 3 yards back? Or if kickers on short FGs used no steps to wind up?

I also still don’t get why the NFL doesn’t allow for the whacky college punt formations.

If snapped properly the laces don’t have to be turned at the current distance (7.75 yards).

That Giants game- their special teams display was probably the worst I’ve ever seen.  They missed multiple FGs because they couldn’t perform a center to holder snap.

They were blowing punt and kick off coverages.  They failed on all special teams units, and it cost them their season.  A FG would of won,  it cost them in playoffs

I actually was on Ferguson a bit last year for his snaps being all over the place. This year I think he’s been better. When the Bills feel it’s time to move on they’ll move on from him. He’s made a nice career out of snapping a football

I think the LS on that game was a DeOssie they recruited from the couch to fill in.  And, weirdly, the fire drill would have resulted in a TD pass but the receiver got a smoked before the ball arrived.

Blocking isnt high on the a long snappers list of duties. They're considered Defenseless Players while their "head is down, and he is in a vulnerable, unprotected state after the snap". If opposing players are coming directly through him, he needs to learn how to sell that penalty. If they are shooting the gaps on either side of him, that's on the Guards.

As long as his snaps are on target, he's good.

This.

Having long snapped a while I can tell you it's scary and difficult. In middle school they don't let defenses touch the LS. In high school they can't cover them.

Bills Rams was week 13 last year, December 8.  So in the last 9 games, the Rams blocked and returned for TD.  Special Teams cost us a win.

Baltimore game Hamilton almost blocked our winning FG.

Miami almost blocked our punt.  If Fin was 2” closer, there is no roughing the kicker.  And possible different outcome.

Saints almost blocked our punt.  If Saint was 2” closer, there is no roughing the kicker.  And a possible different outcome.

So in the past 9 games,  Bills leaky field goal,  and punt lines cost us one game.  But Special Teams Unit failures almost cost all 4 games.

So Special Teams Units Failed their assignments, and directly almost cost us 4 out of the last 9 Bills games, or 44.4%

There have been many other near blocks on a large percentage of Punt and FG attempts.

Special Teams Units has to get their ***** together.

Bills D needs to figure out how to stop the run.  We have Bijan coming up.

Bills D needs to figure out how to get off of the field.  They have to start making 3rd down stops, and stacking them.  A pass rush helps.  Hello Roos.  Hello Sanders.

Bills O Hey Joe- where are you going with these vanilla offensive schemes in your hand?  I said Hey Joe, where are you going with these Vanilla offensive schemes in your hand?  Josh Allen is amazing, how about we use him more?

All Bills coordinator's and coaches have their work to do this week.

I'm "Reid or die" with my man Reid Ferguson.  The only long snapper who can long snap and chew bubblegum at the same time.  The reason the Bills are 4-0 and the reason that the old quarry didn't shut down.  He was the only one man enough to fight the giant sand crab that lives at midfield.

It's BEEN time to discuss him.

Ironically, these two plays created 10 points for our offense and helped seal the victories in both.
