Going there for a family reunion/tailgate, how's the atmosphere? Crowd ok to deal with? Concessions?

This'll only be the third away site I've seen the Bills at and the other two (MetLife and Lincoln financial) weren't all that fun.

Input appreciated!

I’m meeting my college roommate and his brother there for the game. Looking forward to what I will guess is a heavy Bills crowd.

As long as you aren’t a Saints fan you are fine. There is a new development going in around the stadium that by the time the Bills play here in 8 years it could be a totally different experience. For now hit one of the sponsored tailgates like mentioned in the thread. Not much “organic” tailgating around the stadium like there is in Buffalo.

Need more details on this :)

I had a buddy that was a scout for the Falcons (he’s with the Bears now). He gave us his tickets. I was supposed to fly from New Orleans to Dallas that day for work. Instead of the 1 hour direct flight, I booked a 10 hour layover in Atlanta so that work would cover the travel. 🤣 So I had free tickets and a free flight. It felt like I had to go. Boyst and I were texting. He was coming in from North Carolina.

We got in and Chris Tucker was maybe 2 or 3 rows behind us. This was the game Jerry Hughes ran the fumble in. The Bills were a 7.5 point underdog. We were loud but, pretty respectful by our standards.🤣🤣 He was like,”ghgee, ghgee, ghgee, maaaann sitown.” 🤣🤣 So then we started telling him that we are sorry that we had to come in and put down this beating. The playful banter went back and forth (for a while). It was extremely innocent. This wasn’t a stadium fight video. It was just joking around. It was mostly us throwing in a couple of jabs followed by a compliment as to how great Rush Hour 2 was or a question about what it was like to be friends with Michael Jackson. 🤣🤣

Also, @boyst was making some progress on a lonely housewife sitting a row in front of us. Her and her friend had brought their children. I’m not sure what happened after the game because I had to get back to the airport so that I could get to Dallas.

We are going with a large family group. It will be my first Bills away game ever. Thanks, OP, for the question. Lots of great answers, and I’m even more excited to see this wonderful stadium with so many Bills fans.

I guess it's good that they do other events than just the Falcons games in the stadium.

I get that. But it's the Falcons stadium. It's a stadium for an NFL team. And Chic Fil A is not open on the main day that the Falcons play there which to me makes it stupid

Ok and most of their games played there are. Are we gonna act like the Falcons play at home every Monday night? Lol

Is this relevant to someone from out of town starting a thread to ask about the gameday experience for the Bills-Falcons Monday night game?

Also, regarding this being "the Falcons stadium", Atlanta United plays 17 games per season there plus playoffs, so the Falcons aren't even the predominant sports team in the building.

And I had that woman ready to ruin her marriage for me. 🫣

That’s really something to be proud of….or she was just a skank. Congrats. I remember you bragging about that.

That's incredibly cheap

That’s only if you can get to the front of the line. I gave up a couple times a few years ago, I wasn’t willing to miss football over a cheap hot dog. Hopefully they have worked about the kinks (and the wait wasn’t planned).

The energy there for soccer is amazing. Much better than for the Falcons from my experience. Every now and then a see a decal or a hat that reminds me this is the home of the Falcons and not just College Football HQ.

Chik Fil A is an Atlanta company and being closed for a few Sunday Falcons games is no big deal. They don’t need the revenue from Sunday stadium sales, it’s almost like a highway billboard that gets awareness with no directly attributed sales. The stadium does SO MUCH more than the Falcons. If you don’t live here you probably wouldn’t realize. here is what a quick search found.

AI Overview

Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts 40–50 major events and approximately 250 private events per year, in addition to its regular schedule of Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta United (MLS) games. A full event schedule is available on the official Mercedes-Benz Stadium website, showcasing concerts, major sporting events like college football championships and the Peach Bowl, and more.

Atlanta United FC alone plays 17 home games there every year. All kinds on national college football games are played there as well, in addition to stuff you’d never dream of.

Taylor Swift did a bunch of concerts there on her last tour too

I honestly don't understand the hype for Chick-fil-a, people talk it up as if it's the second coming or something. I finally went and was like, "it's chicken."
