I agree, Shaheed or Olave would be a great addition. My pipe dream scenarios, which I know a lot of posters would hate, is Dexter Lawrence. I think that would help alleviate the fear of being run over by the Ravens in the playoffs.

I was hoping they got Lawrence or Jeffrey Simmons last year. I would expect it would be even more difficult financially now. But landing Shaheed or Olave would be sweet for the offense.

Have you ever messed up your ankle?  Best thing to do is leave it alone for as long as possible.

Oh I don't disagree, I'm just wondering what the injury actually is, is it a high ankle sprain? Has that been confirmed? If so that can linger on and off the whole season. Hopefully not.

Ok at this stage I think it's safe to say that Brown isn't dressing on Sunday.

With Grable still on IR, who gets to start? Van Demark or Chase Lundt?

It’s an interesting question. I’m assuming we’re going to get RVD at Right Tackle but he does struggle out on the right side more I just think they’d have more trust in him than throwing Lundt into the fire.

McD has had this game circled from the beginning because he gets to tell Babitch to run his soft zone all game. This will be classic McD “keep everything in front of you” and make Rattler march the field. They’ve got a lot of speed in the WR group so we are going to stop the pass first, probably make an aging Kamara look like he’s in his prime, frustrate the hell out of all of us then win by 2 scores in the end.

It will be interesting to see what the Saints do on defense. I’m sure Brady will want to establish the run and just do the usual. I’d love for the Saints to go all out to stop the run so we can see what we’ve got with the intermediate/deep passing game. Brady/Josh won’t test that unless the looks are favorable and we are still seeing a ton of 2 high shells.

The worst part was Hapless shutting the thread down before the game.  I don’t remember, was there an aftermath?

The less efficient less explosive Dolphins.  My guess a NFC team who hasnt faced Allen much will mega brain it and game plan to stop the run.  8 in the box man outside.  Bills by a billion.

The Bills have been telegraphing exactly what they are going to do on offense. Run the ball often and hit the short area passes. Thing is, no one has been able to slow the Bills anyway. What I find wierd is, it seems like Josh isn't throwing much but the Bills are at about 5th in the league in passing yds on top of being the #1 rushing attack. At some point I believe a defense will find a way to limit the rushing attack.

The offense is showing that anyone can make a play, and if the defense tries to stop one thing, the Bills certainly have other options. There are other little things that I've noticed too. You aren't seeing as much blitzing against this offense and I think it's because the offense is running so much and burning them. Then when Josh does pass, they're caught with their pants down again...lol.

I really like how the offense and the clear game plan is putting defenses on notice. The Bills are literally telling defenses, either stop the run or we are going to wear you down and beat you into submission. Somewhere along the line, I would think a defense will rise to the challenge.

They've also played against teams that are a combined 1-8 this year, with the 0-3 Saints coming to town. When will we have the first real test of our offense?

Well, I don't know about you, but I thought that 1st game against the Ravens was a pretty good test. They were actually making the offense look pretty bad for 3qtrs while dominating time of possession. It's as close to a miracle come back as you're ever going to find. And those records are at least partly because of going against dominant offenses, like say Buffalo's.

It's still very early in the season. I'm pretty sure the teams we've played will start turning things around. Maybe....lol.

The only way to deter Buffalo’s running game is by loading the box. Our offensive line is too good, extra tight ends means extra gaps to defend, and then you have to account for the threat of Josh running. Teams have been very reluctant to load the box do because they fear Allen passing. Mature Josh is no longer Sugar High Josh and he’s not forcing the issue when the looks aren’t there. When teams start committing more players to the box, I hope and expect our intermediate / deep passing game will make an appearance.

Forcing the long game is the modern NFL.  Allen has shown the ability to take it.  Teams that get over aggressive Allen carves up.  Jets and Miami are man to man teams who played zone to limit Allen from killing them.  I have no doubt the first team that goes the other way will regret it.

The Bills are equally happy to kick a team's ass whatever way they are asking them to do it.

And equally adept at it.

Complimentary football.  This is what the media was clamoring for with Daboll and Dorsey.  Brady got the job done (along with the great OL, TE’s and RBs.

This feels like a pre-season game. Obviously, we have to win, but I feel zero concern over it. I'd like a big lead, then sit Allen and key starters and let the rookies get some reps.
