Ethan in Cleveland Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Going to give a shout out to the reporters this week. They asked some decent pointed tough questions of McD today. Usually it is milk toast stuff, but they questioned why such a poor showing on 3rd and long, where is Landon, where is Rousseau, and lastly what happens when Hairston and the PED cheats are eligible to come back. Good solid set of questions. They got few answers but kudos for them raising a lot of the concerns raised on this board. Edited September 20 by Ethan in Cleveland 4 2 Quote

I’d like to hear what he had to say about Groot and 3rd down. 1 Quote

The word is an Americanism derived from the comic strip character Caspar Milquetoast, created by H.T. Webster in 1924, whose name was taken from the bland, easily digested food known as milk toast. Origin The word "milquetoast" comes from the Caspar Milquetoast comic strip character, who represented a timid, meek man. The character's name, in turn, was taken from the dish of "milk toast," a soft food of toast with milk. Meaning of Milk Toast (the food) Milk toast consists of toast, often buttered, served in warm milk. It's typically a bland, nutritious, and easily digested dish, sometimes served with sugar or salt and pepper. 2 2 Quote

WotAGuy Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Did anyone stay up to watch Chicken Wing Roulette on Amazon Prime after the game? Hilarious. Fitz had the hottest wing and he was literally crying and choking. Then Gonzalez got a hot one and was basically cursing, pouring milk all down the front of his face and shirt. It was worth staying up for. Edited September 20 by WotAGuy 3 1 2 Quote

I would not describe McDermott or his pressers in those terms. Is he guilty of coachspeak: very much so. But milquetoast, no. 1 1 Quote
