For all the posters who think Hodgins is somehow the "guy who got away", just like Duke Williams, Robert Foster and a multitude of other WR's who just weren't good enough over the years...he is back with the Steelers for everyone to fawn over...

Did he get away, no I wouldn't say that but for a 6th round pick, he's in the 5th or 6th year of his career. He's hanging on but he's sticking around in the league. Good for him, hopefully he can continue to make a living off of it for a couple more years.

It's really quite embarrassing how many pages that thread got to with the amount of people calling him the next superstar because the guy scored like 5 touchdowns and averaged 40 yards a game

Shakir is a 5th round pick that just got a $60 million dollar extension. Just saying.

There has to be close to nearly 250-275 wide receivers on active and practice rosters in the NFL. That’s a LOT when you think about it.

Sure it is and that’s great for Shakir but I would venture the number of WRs drafted in the late rounds to get massive 2nd contracts are small. Hodgins has already passed the typical NFL career average in general and that’s for a 6th round pick.
