Watching the Jets game again, and also thinking about his performance against the Ravens… Hawes is a baller.

The guy LOVES contact. I genuinely think he craves it. He engages the block, drives his defender backward and does not stop until after the whistle.

I can’t remember the last time i’ve seen a Bills TE who can block this well. Maybe ever?

He may make Knox disposable. Especially with his constant propensity to drop balls.

I wouldn't say Knox is disposable, what I like about Knox is that he adds physicality to the pass catchers something that the Bills don't have much of (many of the WR's esp Shakir run hard and to contact but Knox is a big strong dude plowing over people when he gets the ball) but Hawes adds a wrinkle to the offense that great teams add each year. Last year the Bills ran the 6th O-line player and it was confusing to teams because teams don't do that often. This year they added a quality blocking TE who can flex around as a FB too. Having 2 TE's in Hawes and Knox that can block well as well as Kincaid who is a respectable blocker and it is a tremendous amount of versatility.

Lee Smith who can run routes?  Yeah, this dude is going to be beloved here.  Dude has been plug and play at a position I think most would argue is the hardest college -> pro transition too.  I expect some rookie up and downs but dang, this is the type of role player that gets the juices flowing.  What a fit for the offense

Kincaid's not splatting people, but I do think he has gotten markedly better and looks like he may continue to do so as he matures.

I'm a huge fan - Kincaid's blocking seems to have improved too (to my untrained eye) and he's catching some balls so we really have a 3-headed monster at TE atm.

Looks like someone is sticking to a predraft narrative.

Kincaid is actually a much improved blocker. Now is he as good as Hawes? I don't think so... Ut he's not that far behind  Knox anymore IMO. He made several nice blocks against the Jets and week 1 he drove his dude out of bounds on one play and had a couple  others where he won his assignment. I noticed him late last year throwing some nice blocks as well.

Agreed on all counts.

And for future reference, this young man's name is now Jackson Hoss. 🤠

Saving $9M on a $17M cap hit is very tempting.

Hawes has the potential to be an elite blocker, but IMO, he can only make Knox disposable by demonstrating he's a consistent pass-catching threat.

I can understand that take. But, how beneficial is it really if you never know if he is going to catch the ball?

Not much we can do about it right now but next offseason? hmm...

Respectable blocker doesn’t mean Kincaid is a good blocker but he’s a willing blocker and not bad at it…

Over the first two games, it appears Kincaid has made significant and noticeable improvements. Perhaps moving from below average to slightly above average. I'll take it. Makes him a bit more dangerous if teams need to respect his blocking a little.

Absolutely love this kid, especially the way he attacks defenders with his blocking. It’s violent, purposeful, and his mechanics/technique is spot on at the POA. I really enjoy watching him.

Can just tell that he loves the game of football, and that translates to his play on the field. Wish we had more of him.

Agree, he's doing much better than expected at catching passes.  Guessing it was one of these thing where they never asked him to catch passes so nobody thought he could do it, I'm guessing even the Bills may be a bit surprised by it .  Plus great blocker.

Will make for an interesting decision as to what to do with Knox  at YE as his cap hit next year is high from what I recall reading

And yes Kincaid has got better at blocking.
