Tom Brady couldn't physically do what JA did on three of those TDs

Agreed.  Can't call JA "better" at this point though.....

I think you can call him better. You can't call him as accomplished. I was just pointing out the faulty title though.

I am just finishing the All 22 from this game.  There is a lot to take out of it.  But before I get into specifics in other threads, my biggest take away from this game is just how good Josh Allen was.

For as good as you think he was watching the game, he was even better on tape.  He was in total control.  He was diagnosing the defense on a consistent basis better than I have ever seen him.  We were wondering if the Baltimore defense just didn't play their best or if they were out of position, or whatever.  Nope.  They were good.  They disguised their coverage.  They were freaky athletic.  Everything you would think they would be.  If Baltimore was playing probably any other QB in the league, they would have probably dominated.  But Allen was just on another level with his recognition and he put the ball in the perfect spot all night.  He was terrific.

So, yeah....the first watch was great.  But for as good as everyone thought he was, he was even better.  He has said his main focus this offseason was going to be working on recognizing defenses and what they are doing quicker to help him be more efficient.  If the first game was any indication, he definitely improved.  It will be interesting to see if it shows again this week against a defense he has sometimes had some issues with.  Will be a great test to see where he his mentally in the game.  The Jets seemed to play a lot of man to man coverage with an uptick in their blitzing against the Steelers.  It's going to be a good test for not only Allen's mental processing, but also our WRs who still struggle to get open against man coverage.

Josh was reading coverages pre snap like he has never done before. He was more deliberate on his throws in many situations staying within the play structure. Specifically in the 4th quarter. He has almost nothing in common with TB, but that last quarter he did display on time and on target passing like he rarely has. If that element goes into his game this year, it will be something nobody has ever seen in NFL history.

He was a real escape artist in the pocket, too. I don't know how he was able to navigate some of those pockets and get out of pressure. He just has a sixth sense of where to go, sometimes. He is so hard to sack. Jackson as well, but they do it differently.

Using semantics doesnt change the overall point of the conversation.  Anyone who calls Josh "better" than Tom Brady is incorrect.   Josh may be the most physically gifted Quarterback of all time, but he is not better than Tom Brady.

Brady had a very good arm, and was accurate.  But his super power was his high pre-snap IQ,  then the arm and accuracy made it all work.

Allen is better than a lot of Super Bowl winning QB's and SB loser QBs for that matter.  It's not even debatable.  Football, however, is the ultimate team sport and no QB is winning it all on their own.

The crazy part about this, is coaches have always felt Josh has the capacity for this too. He’s INCREDIBLY intelligent.

It’s really easy to forget that he wasn’t given the exposure to these things in HS and college like other players were. Not to mention he was so physically unrefined, it didn’t even matter.

He’s 8 years in and there’s still untapped potential he’s realizing.

True.  And then the other thing about Brady was his diet and fitness regimen that allowed him to play at a high level for a long time and smash a bunch of career records.

I can't say for certain, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of times Josh and the OL plan for him to move out of the pocket against teams

with a superior pass rush and the blocking is set up accordingly.
