I remember after the Greatest Comeback game, Ralph Wilson mentioned a guy that was leaving at half time screaming at him about how he was going to cancel his season tickets after such a garbage loss.  Ralph said he was going to find that guy and cancel his tickets for him.

Josh Allen has played sensationally for us fans and we love him!

He was stoked and I understand how he was feeling when he told us not to give up on them.

I would like to take him aside though, and explain that it was a Sunday night game, and that leaving early can save people an hour in traffic on their long rides home and they must feel worse than anybody about leaving!

But most of them did it because they have to work in the morning and the odds of a comeback were very slim.

And I'd tell Josh that the fans can't sleep at work like most of the Bills did for the first 3 quarters of the game.

I'd ask him that next time they stage a comeback for the ages, how about they do it during a day game?

I left early, at the end of the 3rd. I wasn't feeling well, and knowing how traffic can be after the game, I just wanted to get back to my hotel and sleep. I was not looking forward to the multi hour drive it would take after the game ended. We did manage to see the last 5 minutes or so once we got to our room, so yes, I'm disappointed I left, but glad the Bills won.

Or you can look at it another way, by leaving early, all the bad juju left the building, which in turn helped the Bills win. Which reminds me, I need to start a thread...

The judging of fellow fans level of fandom is tiresome IMO … Prime time night games are difficult for many based on factors I shouldn’t have to name, and people leave Sunday afternoon games early as well … wouldn’t be surprised if Josh walks back his post game comments regarding this issue. Calling out any fans is a recipe for problems. Just ask Sammy Watkins.  Josh has certainly stockpiled plenty of goodwill with fans, unlike Watkins, but still … tread gently here

I don't think he was at all talking about fans that had to leave early for reasons unrelated to the score of the game in any way.

Leaving a two score football game with almost half a quarter to go is kinda wild...like I didn't even consider turning the game off...if they had gone up to make it a three score game then sure, but it was a two possession game with plenty of time to get two possessions.

That's who he's talking about...not the people that leave every game or concert before the end/encore to beat traffic...30% of the stadium does not do that unless it is a blowout and it just objectively wasn't a blowout at really any point in time...the bills had two three and outs back to back earlier in the game, why not the ravens?

Even Fitzy is letting them have it...and rightfully so.  They should all be forced to stand outside for 8 hours of community service on high traffic corners in WNY with signs that say "I left the Ravens game early. I'm sorry, it will never happen again."

From a former Bills QB who now counts himself among Bills Mafia, this is about as strong of and as an impassioned a public rebuke as you will get. Fitzy’s calling us out out loud whereas Allen was a little more subtle. Don’t take this iteration of this team for granted. It will be gone all too soon.

...go to the next home game and have fun.

I'm with Sal on this.  The only people criticizing the fans who left early are fans who didn't even go in the first place.

It's tough ask to stay up late in OP on a Sunday night.  I couldn't even handle it in my bedroom in North Buffalo.  I shut it down at 40-25 and turned over.  Woke up to a very nice surprise this morning.

I was reading today approximately 30% of the stadium left early.

Probably one of the most memorable games in Highmark stadium history.

You would think people would have learned from the comeback game?

Nope

Most of those people probably weren't even alive for that game

I left the Roland Hooks catch game vs New England many many years ago. I heard the cheers from the parking lot and we scrambled to the car to turn on the radio and find out what happened.

Eh I've been to bills games with my 70 year old father where it was a downpour in 30° and freezing rain

And he would die if he caught pneumonia so he has to go back to the car

The penalty for the fans leaving early was, they missed it!

They will always know that.

I live in California so going to the game was not an option.

I was very proud of our family members who stayed in the stadium until the end... and got to go onto the field and celebrate behind the NBC set.

The biggest deficit was 15 points and Josh Allen is the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills.

If the deficit grew to 17 points (more than 2 TDs and 2 2-point conversions), or if the QB was anyone other than Josh Allen I would have given up hope too.

To be fair all the able-bodied build fans who left yesterday are soft

Josh Allen is finite we have x amount of games left and I will cherish them all

The question to ask is if it was 34-34 5 minutes left, would they have left? If no, then they deserve the callouts. If yes, then they just wanted to call it a night for various reasons. The truth is as you say most of these people left early because they thought we were cooked and wanted to beat the traffic.

Thank You.

There were people around us filing out with over 7 minutes left.  I was completely stunned. You're going to leave the last home opener at the old stadium??  And don't give me this "I have to work in the morning" crap. You damn well weren't leaving if the score was tied. You lost hope, so just man up and admit it. I'm so glad Josh called them out.

I don't ever want to hear this "greatest fan base" garbage again. The fans were a complete embarrassment - from throwing crap on the field at players, to actually physically interacting with players, and then leaving early like Patriot fans.

If these are the clowns that get filtered out with the new stadium pricing then that's all for the better.

I left and would make the same call 100 out of 100.   Sunday night, big week at work, kids up early and a 2% win chance.   it had nothing to do with 17.   Our D showed zero bite all game and I had no faith in them.   I've had seasons for 20 years and this is the only time I have guessed wrong.   There's a huge difference getting home at 12 vs 2.

I get that it's easy for those not there to criticize, but now that we are good and have so many night games, you really have to run your own race.

Prior to the game, planned on leaving at half time regardless of the score.  Wife was cold and that cemented our decision to leave.

I pay for my seasons, so I can do whatever I want. I could go party in the lot and leave. I could leave after the first 5 minutes.  All my choice.

I’d like to know how many people on this thread that are complaining actually went to the game? Have seasons, or had season tix?

Whoever left stadium early needs to….

… live with their decision, and the FOMO they’re going to have to deal with as a result.

If I was retired with 82 million in earnings and didn't have to get up for work, I'd definitely stay.
