I'm not confident his knee will be healthy enough by then. That injury is REALLY lingering. We are basically doing him a favor letting him hang out with his friends and use our great training facilities while he recovers. I don't have a problem with that but even if one of our WRs gets injured I wouldn't hold my breath on Davis in action until after the bye week at the earliest.

If that is true it will take longer. But he isn't here just to sit on the PS and rehab IMO. At some point he is here to be on the roster.

I would not be surprised if Davis ends up on the active roster at some point later this year, but it would be because of injury most likely.  I think the Bills are satisfied with the players and their roles in the WR group right now, barring some collapse or severe underperformance on someone’s part.   That said, Davis is a better option than what they had on the practice squad.

I think he is a better option than Moore and possibly Samuel if he can't get on the field. I think Shavers is mainly there to play teams. So maybe he is a tad safer.

Moore most likely.

That’s my thought as well,

Great minds thinking alike, 🤣

It's like Motley Crue and Guns N Rose's trying to get the band back together.

Sure, if Motley Crue and Guns n' Roses were the roadies setting up the stage and performing soundcheck to an empty house for Ghost and Greta Van Fleet and only coming in individually if a member of their bands had to leave the tour...

All this fuss about bringing back Tre White, Gabe Davis, Jordan Poyer, Jordan Phillips, and Dane Jackson in the same year and only one of them is actually on the active roster.

Aside from that one outlier game vs teh Chiefs, his playoff averages are as follows:

4 Targets per game

2.3 catches per game

45 yards per game

0.3 TDs per game

39-765-5 over a 17 game season.  Pretty good for a PS guy.

i haven’t read through the thread yet- but those crying and whining about this signing (and I’m sure there will be many) need reevaluate their views on the team

I’m not a big Gabe Davis fan, but as a ps player (or WR6 even) he’s a nice addition.  He can block and make plays downfield.

He can still join any active roster though. So if he’s done rehab with his friends and another team has a role he’ll take that. I agree once he’s rehabed he’s gonna play but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be here per se.

This vested vet PS rule really is a windfall for all these washed players. I mean, Hyde was on there and I suspect he couldn’t medically even play last year.

I don’t know when as a society we decide to drop the up out of “washed up” but I’m old and grumpy and I hate it.

Position wise he is an outside  Receiver.

How'd he pass the medical ?
He had made some sweet play in his early days. Those toe taps :)

Hope he gets fully healthy.

So who is he backing up ?

And can Brady adjust at that point ?

Doesn’t matter.

Josh is worse when Gabe is on the field. This is proven.

If having a player on the field makes your QB worse, he is not a player worth having.

YES!!!! I hope every player is washed! I don't want no stanky players on my team.

Josh is clearly worse when Gabe is our 2nd best WR.  As WR 5-6, I don’t think Josh will be worse.  Yes- he will likely throw more interceptions that he did last year.  That’s likely due to the extremely low number he threw last season.  I don’t think Gabe Davis will be THE reason.

Hope not. But we’ll have to see how well Moore does with Josh in a couple actual games. He’s the only real separator we have right now. I’d be all about Gabe taking Samuels spot since Gabe is an actual WR, even if he’s not the most sure handed
