Doc Brown Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Surprised they couldn't find a trade partner for him. Just don't go to KC or Baltimore please. 1 Quote
chris heff Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago He’s only 29, is he washed? Or worth a look? Quote
ganesh Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Considering that the Pats will owe all the money to him, he could come here and play for Vet minimum salary and be a surprise last minute entrant. 5 4 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) If the Bills played more Big Nickel looks he would be perfect addition to the group of safeties they have now. Edited 10 hours ago by Ethan in Cleveland Quote
GunnerBill Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago He isn't really a safety. He is a hybrid. Decent run player, good instincts, liability in coverage. 2 1 Quote

If you subscribe to PFF. 82.3 overall PFF grade. 7th of 117 safeties. Pass coverage grade was 8th at 81.7. Run defense was 35th at 74.4. Edited 10 hours ago by Doc Brown 2 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Oh man I would love to add him, especially since it would be almost free. Cut Codrington and use Peppers as our kick and punt returner. He wouldn't start on our defense but we could definitely design packages to use his skillset. A lot of the player and coaching additions we made on defense this offseason were about adding variety and unpredictability. Peppers fits that philosophy to a tee. 9 2 Quote
ngbills Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Missed much of the season in 3 of the last 4. Seems like a perfect fit. Get it done. 5 1 Quote

I’m not sure that designing packages for a guy who just got cut is a great way to run a defense 2 1 Quote

I'm dead inside and don't deserve good things, but god I would love for us to pick him up. 2 1 1 3 Quote

They’ll need to buy another whirlpool for the training room, but that’s chump change and equipment doesn’t count against the cap. Get er done! 😁 Edited 9 hours ago by SoCal Deek 2 Quote
Low Positive Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The Pats have released a lot of good players. But a team with a new coach who is trying to change a culture will do that. 1 Quote

My guess is they asked him to take a paycut and he declined, so with his injury history and presumably a new defensive scheme they are letting him go. But we could have him for the vet minimum because of offset language in his contract so there's no risk to us. And he has the exact type of skillset you use as a chess piece with very specific packages. I don't see any kind of downside here. I doubt any team is offering him a starting job so give him our best pitch for the role he'll play on a Super Bowl contending team. 2 Quote
L Ron Burgundy Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago He's better than what we have. I'm hoping we sign him. 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Remember, there are 31 other teams that could sign him. Some of them can offer more money and more playing time. 2 Quote
