Sadly no one gets this

You’re right, is it a quote from somewhere? If it is the punctuation is incorrect.

This has been a tough 5-6 weeks since the Bills went to St. John's Fisher in late July.   I am nervous and concerned about this team on what they accomplished in that period and if their goals were met...

* Samuel injured for most of this time.   Probably has not got the timing down with Allen.

*. Shakir down with injury and missed most of camp and pre-season

*. No clear #4, #5 or #6 WR.  May be Shavers

*. Spencer was down most of the time in Rochester

* SVP, Alec Anderson both missing serious time along with Tyron Gable...No Continuity on the backup squad

*. Bass not able to kick for over 4 weeks

* Losing Hairston and then White

* No clear #2 Safety...Is it Bishop ? Who knows ?

* No clear thoughts on #2 QB. Both Tribusky and White have been underwhelming

* Real average to below average pre-season outings.

Makes me concerned if this team will get ready for SNF with Baltimore.   Eveyrthing falls once again on the shoulders of #17

All true and very concerning.

However, the Buffalo offense still has a stout O-line, stout run game, with some very good tight ends. Coleman, Shavers could step up and be really good.  It also might show some rust on Josh, along with the timing being off for the first few games.  Besides, we haven't really seen the 1st string offense in any preseason game, so who knows how good that offense might be to start the season?

Buffalo Bills biggest worry is their own undefined defensive secondary and ability or not to stop the Raven's run game. King Henry! Besides, those Ravens will want revenge for knocking them out of the playoffs last season.

Ravens @ 8:20 Sun in Buffalo, @ NY Jets 1 pm, and the Dolphins in Buffalo 8 pm Thursday are the first three. Not going to be an easy start for this season.

I'm hoping for the best! Go Bills!

That’s obscure, nothing like a profound quote from a guy who pretends for a living.

In the grand scheme of things, they are in great shape......injuries are 100% going to happen.  When you look at who and the significance of most of them they are quite healthy.  Having said that, CB2 is an issue.......but what teams dont have something going on?

No one? I think a lot of people get it all too well, and they come here to get away from all that. I have no problem with anyone voicing that, but I was hoping the thread wouldn’t go that way. Football is entertainment to me. It’s a diversion from how hard life can be.

I won’t freak out if we lose week #1 to the Ravens. They are a very good team, and a season is a lifetime.

Exactly.  Every team has issues at some position group, except maybe the Eagles…

Hate to say it but I fear that the Ravens are going to steamroller us in the opener. Our receiving corps is suspect, our D-line adds may well eventually pan out in a big way but we need to have rooks contribute meaningful reps that you can't always count on getting from the get go, and our secondary is of questionable quality.

Fortunately I'm usually wrong.

You don’t know what hard times are daddy. Hard times are when the textile workers around this country are out of work, they got 4 or 5 kids and can’t pay their wages, can’t buy their food. Hard times are when the auto workers are out of work and they tell ‘em go home. And hard times are when a man has worked at a job for thirty years, thirty years, and they give him a watch, kick him in the butt and say “hey a computer took your place, daddy”, that’s hard times! That’s hard times!

Remember there’s always time to start a podcast or become an internet influencer.

As has been pointed out to me the quote in question is from now deceased professional wrestler Dusty Rhodes, a guy who was playing a role of the every man. It was a promotional bit. A role that he used to get actual everyday people to part with their hard earned money by attending his exhibitions. Professional wrestling, by their own admission is not a sport, but rather a staged exhibition. It brings to mind an H.L. Mencken quote, “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public”.

Before you go too crazy about any of this, you should visit fan sites for a bunch of different teams.  You'll gain an appreciation for the difference between minor temporary issues and those "there ain't no fixin' this problems".  The Bills are dealing with a bunch of minor things compared to most other teams.

Luckily, this isn't a Bills exclusive issue. Dealing with unknowns and setbacks is part of the game for all 32 teams, we aren't special or cursed.

What, if anything, should we read into the lack of information around Tre White's injury?  It's almost like a Sabre's injury report - "lower body injury" . . . .

Last time this happened was Von, obviously the news was bad. Maybe it's a swelling thing?

I don't like our prospects vs Baltimore but that was never what this was about for me. The goal for me is to stay in prime contention for the #1 seed and be positioned to hit our peak toward the back half of the season. I don't see a threat to that goal. Even if we lose the Baltrimore game we have a bunch that follow that should allow us to get in a groove and stay competitive for the #1 seed. At which point, this team has a chance to develop more, get healthy, and we can see what we really have.

On the back half of the schedule

Keon should be even better

Bosa should be better

Bishop should be even better

Max could end up being a starter

Hoecht will be back

Sanders/Jackson/Walker could all make progress.

Shakir will be healthier

Samuel will be healthier (or replaced by somebody who will be likely improving over the year)

Palmer will be better

All Pro Milano is something we haven't seen in some time

What a bunch of cry babies.

I'm 100% looking forward to the season beginning and think we're going to kick arse.

And so it continues, concern, worries, angst, troubling thoughts, not to mention pent up anger at Beane & McDermott, right down the rabbit hole, to never see the light of day ever again…., we are doomed…

GO BILLS!!!
