I don't know about that. First kick was heading straight for the upright before curling in. Last FG made I thought missed wide right.. The one at the end of the half as right down the middle, though. billsfan89 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Hitting 3 for 4 after coming back from injury seems fine to me. Context matters. Glad he got a lot of work in. 2 1 Quote

I understand we couldn't find a new kicker 12 months ago for cap and contract structure reasons. But he's a below average kicker who I'd feel bad about trusting in pressure situations, and the financial cost of replacing him wasn't prohibitive this offseason. Must have been no one we liked in the draft or no perceived better free agent options. 61 yards against Miami says a different story 1 Quote

True enough. The most recent context is yesterday against the Bucs. He was good from 37, 37, and 39 yards, missed from 26 yards and was 2-2 on PATs (33 yards). FWIW, of his 6 kicks, only one went straight down the middle. All the others flirted with the uprights. He makes me nervous. Quote
TwistofFate Posted August 25 Posted August 25 Bass is already in mid-season form. This guy should have been replaced. I can't believe he's still on this team. Quote

The only thing I can tell myself is at least the kicks were consistently to the same direction, and not scattergun There is two weeks of practice where the 1s go against the 1s and he will get plenty of kicking practice. GolfandBills Posted August 25 Posted August 25 Nothing new… every time he lines up for a kick this season I’ll be expecting a miss Quote

That one kick bought him another season. Tyler Bass makes you clench your ass. Good campaign slogan for Ray Davis Quote
