I’m pretty sure he had 1 career reception there. Shavers played ST in 2 of his 3 games for the Bills last season. He didn't against the Colts, but that's because the starting WR were Shakir, Hollins, and Samuel and he was "next man up" Quote

Helluva story to go from a camp body guy signed in the last 2 weeks of the Camp/Pre-Season to making the Practice Squad. But he's still got a long way to go before he 'wrecks dreams and crushes hopes". He's still got to earn the right to stay there and separate himself from the pack before we see him on the field on Sunday's regularly. 3 Quote

Bringing Hairston and Gable back off the IR and on to the active roster is going to have negative impacts on a practice squad linebacker... 1 3 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Ciarlo seems like a good locker room guy, he came off really likable and fun in the Hard Knocks episode 4. He also showed out solidly in the chances he got in pre-season. Glad to see he made the Practice Squad. Quote

Grable knocks Lundt, most likely, off the 53 and if he clears, knocks off an OL on the PS. Hoecht & Ogunjobi directly impact DeWayne Carter and Javon Solomon. Those two have six weeks to prove they belong on the active roster. I suppose Ciarlo could get bounced if the numbers game called for it, but there’s a few guys likely ahead of him on the cut list I’d imagine.. especially with carrying 5 LB’s on the active roster. 1 Quote
CA OC Bills Fan Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Just watched Hard Knocks Episode 4 last night. They spent a lot of time talking about his work ethic, that he stays in the building until late at night studying, that he played nickel in the Bears game without ever having practiced at that position. I wonder if other teams see this and if they need a bottom of the roster guy see him as a good addition and sign him off our practice squad. Although Hard Knocks has been very vanilla on anything that could be perceived as negative, this is the one negative I've seen. That being said, when those types of guys get opportunities, although I'd rather it be with the Bills, I'm happy for them. Quote
PayDaBill$ Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) He’ll likely see active roster duty given the fact that a couple of our LB’s are smallish and made of glass. I like this kids work ethic and toughness. He may surprise a few. On 8/27/2025 at 7:36 AM, Pete said: Ciarlo made a nice fumble recovery and made a nice goal line stop. He looked good at coverage, and was aggressive. Hopefully he clears waivers, if so, Jimmy will be on practice squad most definetly Nice stick on kick coverage, the dude packs a wallop. Pete Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Ciarlo is a converted safety now playing LB -same position switch Matt Milano did. It makes sense, safeties have size and speed. Ciarlo was a late signing, but he impressed with his special teams. He was playing LB in preseason, first time ever basically, and played well. Coaches were impressed how quickly Jimmy was picking up intricacy's of LB. Next year LB will be a big need. Milano and Shaq will be gone. I believe Jimmy Ciarlo is part of the replacement plan to fill one LB spot next year. He will have off season to train to get in optimal athletic level for him to succeed at LB. Ciarlo brings speed and coverage ability, transitioning from Safety. We all know he can hit. Hes an easy kid to root for. Go Jimmy Ciarlo! 1 Quote

He never deployed in a sub. That was a staged photo--he spent a few weeks on a sub as every Academy grad does. He was commissioned in the Reserves with a 2 year AD commitment which was shoreside at a sub base. He was a civil engineer. But he did his duty. I don't think Academy athletes should get special treatment that other top academic graduates cannot enjoy. You go to the Academy to become a career Officer of the line (or Staff Corps Officer if they go to Law or Medical School after the Academy, for example). Why shouldn't a top math or science student graduating be allowed to interview with a high paying tech company for a great job....and defer their service to a later time? Why is it in the national interest to have some grads allowed to delay their commitment to make more money than their commission would bring them, but not others? Dumb law. 1 Quote

Bc he was the 53rd man on the 53 and we have too many injuries elsewhere. We'll need to call up someone at DT. Yes, we'll get Larry Ogunjobi. But we're down Daquan Jones, T.J. Sanders, and Dewayne Carter from our initial 53. We need at least one more in addition to Ogunjobi. Considering we're now down 2 1T's from our initial 53 and that Ogunjobi leans more 3T, my guess is that it was done to make room for Zion Logue - who has no more Practice Squad call ups left.
