Considering how the guys who know the system are performing in this defense, I wouldn't mind rolling the dice with a street FA who has never played here and wasn't issued a play book.

especially if they know how to tackle!

We have right now as starters Thompson and Bernard.  Williams and Milano can be back soon.  Them Buffalo Joe and Ciarlo.    Then Jenkins on the practice squad.  Is bringing a guy back familiar with the system really worth getting one’s panties in a knot?

Yes!

Okay my take is that I would rather have CJ Gardner-Johnson on the PS instead of Spector. Do you disagree? One of those guys has at least a small chance of helping the team later this year and one of them has no chance. We have to stop always choosing the culture fit that knows the system over the more talented player. That's how you end up with Tre White and his rubber band legs covering Stefon Diggs 1v1 in a meaningful game.

I don't really care about the PS but the constant inability to be self-aware about ther own bad habits is really depressing.

They're down two LBs, maybe for a while, and you wanna fill that hole with a S?

But he’s a safety.  I gather they wanted another LB around with what’s going on with Williams and Milano.

It is when we only have 3 active cornerbacks on the roster!! And the top 2 are struggling !

I want the most talented players we can find from the top of the roster to the bottom. I am not at all worried about the exact number of LBs vs safeties on the PS. I want players that you can reasonably expect to call up and have them perform. Spector isn't that. He's someone they're comfortable with, that's all.

For me it's less about this one move and more about the overarching philosophy that continues to get this team in trouble.

They will likely be calling Jackson up.  And I would start Ingram over Tre right now.

Point is, we know what Bail Inspector is, and that's a player that isn't good enough to put on the field for any reason. Practice Squad isn't JV, these are players that the Bills may ask to dress for a game. Having a player on there who is incapable of that is a waste.

Say what you will about Beane, but it can’t be argued that he searches far and wide, and leaves no stone unturned, in filling out the Bills roster.

Yes he searches far and wide to return the same washed up players to this team for the sake of "knowing the almighty system"....

I don't know if it's familiarity, sentimentality, or something else - but it's clear at this point that they have a level of comfort w/ players they know over potentially more talented players who they don't know.

It's pretty weak.

And that will forever be the downfall of this organization.

not a great list of FA's.

too bad we don't have a PS LB we can poach

still hate we got rid of tyrell dodson

We didn't "get rid of" Tyrel Dodson.

When his contract was up, he was signed by the Seahawks to be their starter, to fairly decent money. He wasn't going to give up the opportunity to start in Seattle to be a Backup here.

Let's all burn our Cold Front jerseys in protest

Walking out of the stadium Sunday night I looked around at the sea of white out jerseys and told my son they should start a huge bonfire in the parking lot and burn them all
