BillsPride12 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 When I was younger I used to never miss them and they always felt like the official kickoff to the new season starting. I'm not sure if it's just me being older and more jaded or if the quality of them have legitimately dropped a bit but in the more recent years they just don't grab my interest as much. It's been awhile since I've sat done and watched one. But I am planning on at least watching some of this one coming up next week. I have read they are planning on doing something special for Marv's 100th Birthday and I really want to watch Sterling Sharpe get inducted. That is really the last old school guy I grew up watching as a kid that I have been waiting to see get inducted. I think you look at it a little bit differently when you are talking about the players you watched as a kid when everything felt so larger than life. After Sharpe gets inducted I don't think there will be anybody that I get truly excited to see go in until that day comes for Josh Allen lol. 1 Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I only watch them if there are any Bills. I pry watch the baseball ones more.... (of course I didn't today) 2 Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Have they gotten better at letting the paint dry on the field before playing the HOF Game? 1 Quote

The thing for Marv is Friday night as he will be there in Canton, but is leaving right afterwards as has to be be back in Chi Town for a signing event over the weekend. I'm guessing they will show a taped replay of about 30 seconds of Marv's celebration during the actual televised event. And I too don't watch it like I use to either. Speeches have got way too long. 1 1 Quote
Another Fan Posted July 27 Posted July 27 No. Even for someone that interested me recently like Joe Klecko you could just eventually YouTube it. Quote

Ned Flanders Posted July 27 Posted July 27 If I’m around and not doing much, I may tune in, but I won’t make time to watch. Quote

It’s on right before they try to sell you an air fryer or something. I’m happy for them, but you can’t make me watch that, unless a Bill was getting in. Then I’d give it a chance, briefly. . Gregg Posted July 28 Posted July 28 If a Bills player is involved, then yes. I will definitely watch Allen's when he makes his speech. Barring any injuries Allen is well on his way to having a career that will end up in Canton. If no Bills are involved, then I might the highlights but not the whole show. 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Not live. But I'll catch some highlights here and there. By and large, there really aren't many guys that make it that are entertaining enough speakers to be interesting. Now should the day come and Marshawn Lynch makes it...that's must see to me. Dude is hysterical. 1 Quote

Would have been one of the best ever, except for the injury. Still great for the time that he played. Such a classier guy than his horse mouth brother. 1 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Depends on who is speaking. If there is a player I liked watching play a lot I'll listen in. The only two I've watched in the last ten years were Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. Quote
Gregg Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I wonder how many Bills fans will show up to Canton when Allen makes it. I would have to think Canton will be a sea of blue on that day. Quote

An update from the BN, nothing mentioned about when he's leaving, but a story I read a couple weeks back stated he was heading back Friday night. A van provided by the Pro Football Hall of Fame was scheduled to pick up former Bills coach Marv Levy and his family in Chicago on Wednesday morning for the drive to Canton, Ohio. An NBC camera crew will be shadowing Levy during his visit to the Hall. 2 1 Quote

Dude is hysterical. You gotta really like a player for him to be someone you watch their ceremony for. Most of them are very similar, they thank their family, their coaches, teammates, close friends, and spouse if applicable and they give some anecdotes about their playing days and talk about what an honor it is. So unless you really really care about a player it's not that dynamic of a watch. 2 Quote
Chandler#81 Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Like many here, only if a Bill or a favorite player is being inducted. Otherwise it’s exceedingly boring. Quote
