Also you dont see us in the playoffs or you think he has a season ending injury just after thanksgiving? I just don't see him making an impact and hoping he takes Dewayne Carters spot as the healthy scratch DT. Players coming off PED suspensions rarely play well, especially ones that weren't that good on the juice. Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) Keon and Shakir fielding punts I like Keon with the ball in his hands. Edited July 23 by Not at the table Karlos 8 3 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted July 23 Author Posted July 23 I guess I understand White getting 1st team reps to start camp but I really hope the plan is for Hairston to win the job. Need him on the field ASAP for the upside. 7 Quote
NewEra Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Tre and Bishop first reps with the 1’s. I figured Tre would get them early on, let’s hope Maxwell has been in his playbook 24/7 and takes over soon. was a bit worried about Bishop overtaking Hamlin but this is a good start 1 Quote

Frank Gore Jr. and Shavers seem to fit the bill, but they were frontrunners for that role last year. Anyone else we should be paying more than reasonable attention to? Remember when people were worried that Frank Gore Jr was going to get pouched and destroy us last year? 1 Quote
Process Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Great to hear Bishop with the 1s after a very rough rookie season. Hopefully a sign they are happy with his progress. 4 Quote

I'm not the least bit surprised that McDermott and co are giving the trusted and tenured veteran the starters' reps early and making Hairston earn it. It would be downright bizarre to me if Hairston automatically got inserted with the 1s to start camp. 4 9 1 Quote

IIRC Hairston was getting reps with the 1s the last week of OTAs but seemed like there was a rotation between him and White. 2 Quote
Fleezoid Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) I love when training camp starts. It means discussions go beyond conjecture and speculation. But what really gets me excited that football is right around the corner is the Hall of Fame game. It's a preseason game that's barely even a preseason game, and I usually only watch part of it, but seeing teams on the field starts the clock for me. July 31st.....the clock starts ticking. Its a sign of respect to White. Plus they need to see if White can cover Bills #1 WRs or if he is still broken. 2 1 Quote

So you have dewayne Carter ahead of him on the depth chart? Carter had flashes and I’m hopeful but I certainly don’t think he’s ahead of LO. Larry has at least shown high level play in the NFL (2021 with cinc). I think the question for LO is if his diminished performance was related to being old (needing PEDs) versus or pitts scheme. Not at the table Karlos Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Moore looks smooth and explosive. Samuel looks faster than last year. Rounded some cuts that I’d like to be sharper. Passes are against air but I like the way Mike White throws the ball better than Trubisky. 5 4 Quote
SCBills Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Hairston is the future but the Bills staff needs to get a good idea of what Tre has left in the tank as well. Hairston dealt with an injury last year at Kentucky and Benford always seems to miss a couple games (hopefully not when it matters this year). The CB3 position in our Defense, and most around the league for that matter, seem to be guaranteed a few spot starts over the course of the year. What will be tricky is if Hairston wins it and Tre makes the 53, he likely takes the Elam role of starting or inactive - depending on the development of Strong. Bishop/Rapp has some decent potential and a healthy camp with noticeable development for he and Kincaid would do wonders for the potential of this team. 3 Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) 7 on 7 red zone defense looking good vs MVP. First three well covered and incomplete. Completed TD to Moore. Another breakup by defense. swing pass TD to cook Cook seems to be full participant and well engaged. Edited July 23 by Not at the table Karlos 7 2 6 Quote

There was Ronald Darby (later traded) then a bunch of absolute scrubs.... Shareece Wright was probably the closest to a proven vet. 3 2 Quote
