Guess it’s okay if the conversations meander a t(h)ad 😐

Are the Bills your first NFL love?

Whats your first Bills memory either way?

- Yes. One and only

- My first memory is hearing around the house that Jim Kelly is destroying with the Gamblers and acting cautiously exuberant that he’s coming to save the Bills. The very first word-for-word quote I can recall is, (on the 1987 season) “Grandpa thinks the Bills aren’t too bad.”

One more random thought.. can anyone can shed light on the Legend of Brian McClure? He’s 61 now so nothing life threatening. But drafted by Bills in 86, starts one game in 87, and the stream runs dry? Injuried beyond repair in his only game? Did he get recruited by The Farm? Cold War Double Agent?

I have recruited quite a few bandwagon-jumpers over the years, even during the drought (playing the underdog angle). But they all still have a primary team that isn't the Bills, and I doubt they check in on any Bills boards.

I’ve followed the team for decades. I have even started enjoying them again recently! Considering becoming a fan.

I'm still holding out to see if they win a Super Bowl first before I give them my full allegiance

My heart went out to the Wide Right Bills on a late cold night in Grenoble!!!...Haven't missed a single game over the next 34 years, even if it meant staying up late nights now in India for the past 14 years...

We saw Kelly ride to the sunset along with Thomas, Reed and Smith.

We thought Collins was the 2nd coming of Kelly...Alas

There was going to be no hope with Alex Van Pelt

Then  came  #7.....and rekindled the hopes again...only to be crushed....and muddled it with Rob Johnson...

Aah...the Drew Bledsoe Era...when we had two 1000 yard receivers (Go Figure)....and still get wacked by the 3rd string Steelers in our own backyard

Drafting Losman after losing out on future HoF'er Rotherlisberger....only to be losing games....

Then the hyped up Trent Edwards....50-0 in High school or something ridiculous like that....a noodle arm...and a sad end....

Another 1st round pick in E J Manuel....all we sadly got was Tuel Time !!!

A FA making a difference....FitzMagic all around....beating the Patriots in the Season opener.....four seasons...7-2 start...didn't matter....heart break heart break.

A Tyrod Taylor sighting...or the Peterman Disaster....The Bills feeling Hopeless....At least they break the Jinx of not making to the Playoffs.....17 long Winters (thankfully seven of them in mildly cold Bangalore).

Finally, the Gods decided to bless the City of Buffalo and the Mafia...Josh Allen #17 from University of Wyoming...son of a farmer...cantaloupes, pistachios...but with a gun for an arm...

Time is ticking...but time is right...Season MVP....Time to bring that Lombardi home....the day he will bring joy to a city and its people...built on toughness to beat the heartbreaks, the nay sayers,  the competition....the Earth's brightest star shining in his glory.   Go Bills !!!

It would explain a-lot.  Some havent suffered through the drought and it shows.  Some still act like we are.   All we wanted was a team that every year was on a short list of favorites to win the Superbowl with a franchise Qb.  Allen is the best watch in the league qb wise.  Buffalo is entertaining in the best and worst ways.  Only thing left is raising the lombo .

I was already a Bills fan, but I do remember that I was very intrigued by Josh Allen during the pre-draft process.  He lacked the background in a big-time college football program, and didn't get the kind of high-level coaching that would help him deal with mechanical issues.  He had everything else, the athleticism, arm strength, intelligence, attitude, everything.  Everyone else was fixated on "the other Josh" but I sort of thought Josh Allen might turn out all right.

I thought my record of one missed game since 2008 was good for a non-US based fan. But you have me beat.

I tried to post to this back in June but only just got my membership approved :)

I've followed the bills since 1989 and being from the UK we got very little NFL coverage back in those days. I saw the bills on the highlights show one weekend and that was it, I loved Thurman Thomas especially. An old friend of mine who is a Bears fan is the one who got me into the sport, and he's told me recently I chose the better team to follow as the constant hope and then disappoinment of the bears is killing him lol

Great memories (not of the results) of staying up late as a 12-15 year old for the 4 superbowls (with my tv on really low volume so my parents didn't know), I'd give my left arm for the bills to get to another one

I have a friend who switched allegiances from the Bears about 5 years ago. He was huge on Allen coming into the draft and little by little he just abandoned his Bears fandom. I've accepted him into the club. I've been die hard since 1989.

Yeah I never got that... I been a Bills fan since I was 5 my first game was in 73 2nd game the stadium was opened... Moved to Tampa 2 years ago... and am trying to have a secondary team because theoretically that would be my new home town.... and I am struggling... even approaching caring... best I can do is be happy if they win as long as its not against the Bills... and root for them if they are playing any team in the AFC that is close to playoff contention...  I probably could have shortened this to.... I am still a Sabres fan... if that cesspool dont make you switch teams nothing will...

My earliest Bills memory is Mini Max Anderson 'swallowing' his tongue - a concept that freaked out my fragile 9-year-old brain.

So I'm not a bandwagon jumper, though I welcome everyone who is.  Enjoy the ride!
