I hope he plays like Max Crosby, but, from a looks perspective, I can’t decide on who Landon Jackson reminds me of most - Xerxes from 300, Styr from Game of Thrones, Agent 47 from the Hitman video game, other? Just can’t put my finger on it.

I've been saying that they can easily cut Jackson, Lewis and Ingram and get them on the PS.  I think that with the dearth of safeties, Hamlin might make it by default, but I'm hoping someone else outplays him.  As for White, he might make it just based on past history.

I can see a future starting lineup of Benford, Hairston, Bishop, and Hancock, with Strong at nickel.

Strong is not a nickel on a McDermott defense. He's boundary all the way.

Yeah, Hancock is being tried at NCB also.  I’d say Hardy at NCB.

It would be great, but he has really a narrow path to 53. Shakir, Coleman, Samuel and Palmer are locks, and we just gave Moore $2,5M guaranteed. So Prather needs to outperform Moore by large margin to force Beane to cut Moore despite the dead money. Not impossible, but not likely imo.

I don't think Curtis Samuel is a lock.  Elijah Moore is the same kind of receiver as Samuel: shorter, very fast and will take most of his snaps in the slot and can run trick plays.  Moore is a little lighter.  The big difference is Samuel's cap figure is quite a bit bigger and he's three years older.  Moore can play outside, but the slot is his bread and butter.  Prather is going to be primarily an outside receiver.  If Coleman and Palmer start outside, Prather would fit in as depth outside if he were to beat out Shavers.  I could see Buffalo keeping Coleman, Shakir, Palmer, Moore, Prather and Shenault.  Shenault would have to beat out Codrington as a returner.  I'm not predicting that at this point, but it wouldn't shock me.

What was the deal with Walker not getting snaps in the team drills? Anything to read into that?

Yeah, he had a broken bone in his back last year and is rehabbing.

FWIW he played all season with it. Scouting reports said his conditioning was bad because of his body type but I surmise he had to come out due to pain more often than lack of O2. The condition was discovered at the combine so Beane discounted his 2024 tape and relied more heavily on his 2023 tape where he was a gd wrecking ball at age 19 in the SEC.

Contract (plus late-season/playoff production) says he almost certainly IS a lock. Need to roll with him at least one more year and hope he's healthy and dynamic.

I'd think Samuel IS a lock to release next year unless he goes off for 1K and 10 tuddys or something. Large cap savings and minimal dead hit to release him for '26.

I'm guessing you've never watched Barry.

He's NoHo Hank and I'll never be able to get it out of my head when I see him.

Thanks. I didn’t realize the back is still an issue.

Have you seen his interviews where he reveals he's from Massachusetts and speaks with a very metro accent? Disconcerting, at first, but SO impressive given how iconic and unplanned his character's impact has been (was supposed to die in first episode, but Hader made a last minute audible to let him live). What a gem.

They better!!  I’m really high on Strong. Toss up between he and Jackson for best vakue imo.  I didn’t watch any of Hancock prior to the draft and I’m convinced he’s a future starter at FS or Nickel before his rookie contract expires

Yeah I'm not sure I've seen a three position set of picks that I'm this excited about individually. I think they're all going to be for real. Hancock to me looks like a nickel corner but what do I know.

Exactly this. If anyone's a Nickel, it's Hancock. He's set to take over the Cam Lewis floating DB Backup Safety and Nickel role as soon as this season.

Also exactly this. If we cut him after Training Camp, we'd save nothing and take on an 8+m Dead Cap hit.

With the kind of depth (or lack thereof) at the WR core we have right now and the financials involved, there's really no scenario where Curtis Samuel isn't on the roster.

This and the fact that all last year various players and coaches said the WRs had to learn all positions because they want everyone to be able to lineup in any position.  Moore also said something to this effect in his post-signing presser.

Beane said Hancock will play NCB and safety.  I'm hoping that Hardy seizes the NCB role and allows them to play Hancock exclusively at S.

Why are you hoping that for Hancock? To me, a big part of his appeal is his versatility.

I have big concerns about hardy at NCB with what we ask TJ to do.  I don’t see hardy holding up in the run game at all.
