Don't let him enter the building

I had heard that Gabe was in Buffalo yesterday from an attorney friend........I don't know why, maybe it was just an event or something but then to hear he was cut today I half expect Beane to offer Wrong Way Gabe $6M or something to come back.   He always finds a way to overpay former Bills.

No thankyou on a return .Always felt he had big drops. I think he had his best season when he was the BILLS 3RD receiver behind Diggs and Sanders.

His does terrify the Chiefs, so there's that!

I sort of think that the reason he was repeatedly running loose all over the place against KC is because they had no fear of him whatsoever.

Releasing after a year with over a $20M dead cap hit?  Must have been/done something really bad.

It was a massive overpay by Baalke and the Jags to start with. He had a lack of productivity when he did play. Never seemed to get on the same page as Lawrence (sound familiar?) and then had the injury. Then they bring in a new HC/GM that want to clear the bad contract being paid to what would be at best their WR3 with Hunter and Thomas leading the target share.

I don't think he did anything wrong other than being overpaid and no longer needed.

He's not really a fit for what we're trying to be in the WR room --- "positionless".  But he'd be our best blocking WR and a downfield threat still- at $6m or less its worth a shot

Man.  People are brutal on Gabe.  He's had some great all time plays here.  The 98 yarder stands out to me.  It's not his fault he was elevated to a role he didn't have the capacity to do.  Having said that, the thought of Josh throwing to him again after a year where he cleaned up his turnover problem is like locking a recovering alcoholic in a brewery.

Still making the Jacksonville money, sign for league min.  He will make the same regardless.  Makes too much sense not to.  Those concerned about Coleman, Davis fits that Hollins role perfectly.  Unconventional, but down the field player. I would shocked it doesn't happen.

Buffalo does not need Gabe" barely catch 50% of balls thrown my way" Davis.

Right. Even in a reduced role his flaws would not be proportionately less prominent. If we are going with six, I would prefer a younger player with the right traits and upside. If Prather could learn to block something like Gabe I might favour him (he's a bit taller, quite a bit faster, looks to have good hands and ball tracking ability and runs decent albeit limited routes for now). Some analysts like him and expected him to go earlier. Good receivers can be found later in the draft - Puka, Shakir.

….and then he caught the ball! Repeatedly! Who saw that coming???

Gabe is too inconsistent. He's had some great moments, but he's unreliable.

He's "too" a lot of things that aren't good.

He doesn't have professional level hands,  he is not a good route runner and he was consistently not where Josh Allen expected him to be.

They didn't "improve" the WR corps last offseason but they got rid of a lot of interceptions when they let Gabe go.

Those turnovers were critical to regular season performance.   You are still going to get beaten deeper in the playoffs without difference makers but we did see the difference not turning the ball over made during the regular season.
