I think he's going to make Epenesa trade bait at some point this summer. Or fall when the 6 game suspension ends for the other two. Quote

No he doesn't have the elite arm length like Rousseau or the Wilt Chamberlin sized hands that allows Groot to tackle ball carriers/QB's that seem to have an escape angle. And Jackson is not as quick off the line. Big disparity in 10 yard split from Rousseau that shows up on tape. People forget that everyone was gushing about Rousseau's incredible, WR-like 10 yard split when he was drafted. Jackson's just not been quick enough early in the down to get the kind of massive sack production in college that Rousseau had. Jackson jumps better in shorts than Rousseau though. A good vertical leap often indicates a player will be quick off the snap but that hasn't been the case with Jackson. Neither Jackson or Rousseau change direction very well because of their long legs. I'm hoping Jackson can get quicker off the ball and continue to develop his hands but he's got limitations to overcome. Edited 2 hours ago by BADOLBILZ 3 1 Quote

I truly think Landon will benefit from some wide 9 looks and hey maybe AJ can help him with his get off, which he has shown to be elite making him my most frustrating Bill i can remember. 1 1 Quote

Perhaps more than any individual player they've added, it will be more interesting to see if Ryan Nielsen can impact their pass rush. They still don't have anyone who is likely to put up 10 sacks. They've routinely underachieved in that regard, relative to talent on hand, IMO. Epenesa is a guy who has a chance to make a fortune if he can elevate his game in this walk year. You'd hope he'd be their most improved DL this season but I think he is kind of an afterthought to most after he failed to step up in his last walk year and just didn't show much last year. 1 2 Quote

BigDingus Posted Saturday at 02:51 AM Posted Saturday at 02:51 AM (edited) This video named Landon Jackson the Bills' most impact impactful pick of the draft. Not because of his ability to rush the QB, but because of how good he is at stopping the run. Edited Saturday at 05:39 PM by BigDingus 2 Quote

After the draft (when it’s time to sell tickets) we somehow got 4 (maybe even 5) of them. 2 Quote

That is, an edge setting, run stopping defensive end who can pitch in some pass rush in spurts and add value to the defensive line rotation. And before anyone waves away my invocation of those two names: One played 10 years in the NFL, the other played 9. That's a good career. Jackson's a third round pick, and usually edge rushers that fall to the third round -- great DL draft or not -- don't turn into premium pass rushers. Obviously, it's not a guarantee, and I'll be rooting for him to exceed expectations and ball out for Buffalo. But if he can work into the rotation, add some juice, and set the edge, I'll consider him a worthwhile 3rd round pick. Then again, about 8.8% of 3rd round draft picks become All Pros (according to a historical review once done by Forbes). As a fan, I always hope. www.forbes.com/sites/prishe/2015/05/22/tracking-nfl-draft-efficiency-how-contingent-is-success-to-draft-position/ 1 Quote

It's just so required in this scheme. Agreed..We currently have zero blue chip players (all-pro's) in our defense. It needs 2-3 to be a SB champion. I hope the defense turns around this time. Quote

Once he learns how to control his frame, dude will be a beast. Strong. Long arms. Good speed. Great attitude. Love him! I agree with the growing into his body and controlling his frame part. There are some reps in his Senior Bowl practices that show the need for him to do so: 00:54 02:10 04:34 02:28 03:00 04:55 On the good side, he gets to go against Dawkins in camp, where he gets a baptism by fire on controlling his balance. Dawkins is great at taking advantage of a guy's imbalance. Or, he can use the Rocky Balboa string-around-the-ankles trick. 2 Quote

Perhaps it was his love for his micro golden Doodle named Honey. I think it was Dane Brugler on the Athletic draft show who said the Bills could've picked Jackson at the end of the first round and nobody would've batted an eye. There were mocks out there that had him going late first/early second round so yeah, seems like pretty good value to get him in the third. Hope he balls out and gets somewhere between 5 and 900 sacks this season. I like to provide a wide margin. Quote
