Defense Playing Undermanned Due To Performance Issues.

I have always wondered why our DB's never push or throw down receivers after the QB leaves the pocket?  On yesterday's Lamar's run TD .. Benford is playing handsy with WR Bateman.  Also noticed on the trick play, our OLine is turned around watching Josh as opposed to just finding a man to hit.  (Dawkins man beat him twice on that play). Sad

I have said it in a few threads, but Hamlin's physical limitations jumped out of the TV last night.  He looked like a little kid out there... and he is slow.  Also seemed a day late and a dollar short on every play.  Almost like he was avoiding the carnage.

Miller had 9 snaps.  He's more of a third-down pass rushing specialist than a physical run stuffer.  I think the Bills were rightly more worried about Henry's running than Lamar's passing.  In any case, we didn't force the Ravens into many third down passing situations, Von's speciality.  

 

I probably wished Miller had played more just to see what could contribute.  Nothing else  was working.

He‘s mostly a special teamer that has played decent as a starter at times.  The past few games make it pretty obvious that they need more from the position.  I would be surprised if Mike Edwards didn’t get some snaps

The article almost reads like AI. It’s weird.
 

But to the point. I don’t have an issue with almost anything the article pointed out at LB/Edge.
 

I am really curious WTF was going on in the secondary. I know Rapp went out but it seems so weirdly muddled there. Elam only getting 3 snaps is so strange to me as well. He had a very good camp and a great preseason. I’ve noticed when he’s come in some of our blow outs he’s certainly popped off the screen as a “not scrub” amongst the scrubs.

 

I would be curious to move Douglas

to safety and put Elam on the outside.

Allen was supposed to take the pitch back to the center of the field. It was such a screwed up play, he cut back to try and make a play. We all know how that worked out.🤮

Athleticism aside I think this team is missing the football IQ on the defensive side to have somebody reliable lining them up. We have two backups QB’ing the defense.

 

I think this is the biggest reason to bring Hyde back in sooner rather than later. (If willing)

Well maybe if one of them get dinged they can talk Mika into coming back he knows this D better than most and is a great teacher too ... Plus he should be well rested by now .

Edwards has been inactive the last 2 games I believe.  Bills did sign S Lewis Cine to their PS.  Former 1st rd pick of the Vikings.  He's only 24.  If Rapp is out awhile, maybe they bring Cine up.

In the Bills Media Guide, the team photos by position group had Cine with the LBs so, unless he is learning S and LB, it might not be an option to play him at S this year.
