BillsFan130 Posted March 10 Share Posted March 10 (edited) Comparing to the chiefs and 49ers the 2 SB teams, here's how I'm going to categorize as elite: -Made 1st team/2nd all pro last year -Top 3/4 at position. (For example, Josh and Mahomes are elite even though they didn't get voted all pros) So for the bills I got 3 players but technically only 2 last year cause the Milano injury. -Josh, Milano, Taron. Chiefs: 7 players -Mahomes, Kelce, thuney, humphries, C Jones, Mcduffie, Sneed 49ers: Hufanga got hurt so technically 7 players -Mccafery, Aiyuk, T Williams, Kittle, Bosa, Warner, Hufanga, Chardavious Ward (I didn't include their fullback) So in the playoffs if you factor in injuries, bills had 2 "elite" players based on the all pro selection/my opinion. Chiefs 7 And 49ers 7 with the Hufanga injury. While the bills have a lot of good to very good players, I really think they are missing some game breakers on this team. What do you guys think? sven233 Posted March 10 Share Posted March 10 (edited) No.....and that's a big part of the problem. We are every bit as good as the Chiefs in a lot of ways, mainly thanks to Josh. But with the games we play against them, it is always guys like Kelce and Chris Jones......HUGE IMPACT PLAYERS, that ultimately beat us in the end. We don't have players like that, outside the QB position, that can turn a game by themselves. Diggs is supposed to be one of those guys, but he disappears in the biggest moments against that team. The days are gone for spending money on special teams and d line rotations. It a barbell of 5-7 exceptional players, not a lot of very good in the middle and then cheap raw talent at the bottom to balance the cap. MasterStrategist Posted March 10 Share Posted March 10 This has been Beanes biggest issue....he finds a bunch of B/B+ guys to accompany Josh and Stefon, latter is now a B-type guy. It's a solid/very good roster, but not enough star power. Von was supposed to be the elite guy, along with Tre coming back from injury, but things went sideways. We need to be "elite" on one side of the ball at least. Either stack up the defense, or more suitable for this draft, stack the WR room and OL. McDermott is a very good defensive mind and we can win a SB with an elite offense and tier 2 defense. Just need another playmaker, upgrade on Morse, and hopefully we see Kincaid/Shakir continue improving. MJS Posted March 10 Share Posted March 10 The Bills have had really good teams with good depth. What they have been missing are those X factor players. You need 3, and one of them needs to be the QB. The Bills have Josh Allen. Diggs used to be one, but I don't think he is anymore. Tre White was once upon a time, but injuries happened and he is gone. Taron in my opinion is a very good player, but isn't elite.
