I just saw that NFL Good morning football had to do the obligatory "has the Bills window closed" Bull ****.  It wasn't until a couple years ago I heard everyone saying "run it back" and "Windows closing" BS.

As long as we have Josh Allen we have a chance at anything. There are no windows etc.

well that show has been cancelled and after Kay left good riddance

GMFB - "Is the Bills' window closed?"

Josh Allen - "Hello mutha ......"

Man, I am so tired of hearing about the "window."

People have been saying the Bills window is closing or has closed since 13 seconds.  It literally is just something people say.  It is divorced from reality.

Burrow summed it up best.  Cincy has a window as long as he is QB.  KC has a window as long as they have Mahomes.  And the Buffalo Bills have a window as long as they have Josh Effing Allen.

I don't think there are any teams outside of those 3 that can say that.

I’ll start worrying about a window whenever I see the bills stop trying to improve themselves every off-season haven’t seen it yet

The Patriots "window" was EIGHTEEN YEARS....

There is no such thing as a window.  You either have a staff that can continually put the right players on the field or you do not.

No window.

Agreed. The “window” talk is media fodder and meaningless while Josh is in his prime and we have a competent organization.

The bottom line is that we didn’t get it done with the pieces we had the last few years and the players who were released were too expensive for what they brought to the table. I respect Beane for not being sentimental and doing what is needed.

I couldn’t agree with you more Success.  I’m so over the window BS argument.  The Cheats window was as long as Brady was the QB there.  We are in the window until Allen retires.  He’s still young.  We have another 19 years easy with Josh.  With the way QB’s are protected, he’ll be fine.  His last few years he’ll lose that mobility benefit, but hopefully he keeps growing as a passer.

I hate using them as an example, but the Cheats kept reinventing themselves throughout Brady’s tenure.  They went from heavy defense, to Brady throwing to Moss and WR company, to 2 TE sets with Gronk and the serial killer.  We will get younger now that we purged a bunch.  It was needed, but like many Morse was a surprise.  I just hope we didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot on that one.  Before anyone says it, Morse isn’t coming back on a revisited deal.  He’s said his goodbyes.  My guess is Beane tried to get him to take a paycut, and he may think he has more potential somewhere else.

Your window is open as long as you draft well and have a top tier QB. Right now the Bills have both.

What happens if a team doesn’t get under the cap?  I know in soccer in England crappy teams have to go to the minor leagues.  Is it something like that?  Or do they have to move?  St. Louis Rams over the cap?

The owner gets massive fines and the team loses draft picks.

Clarification: In England, teams are relegated because they finish in the bottom three in their league. Likewise teams move up a league if they finish in the Top 3 of the league below. It’s not because of money. With only one true professional football league in America that can’t happen. The closest thing we have here is baseball which has multiple tiers of professional leagues.

So does hockey.  ECHL, AHL and NHL.  However we have no league that relegate the bad teams.

And now back to the topic at hand.

I’m a little surprised we didn’t see any additional cap moves by the Bills yesterday.  I guess Beane needed a break after Wednesday to reshape his hatchet.

The NHL trade deadline is today.  How will Beane upstage Adams again today?

Just a further clarification.   Violation of the financial rules in English football results in point penalties that may but do not necessarily lead to relegation.  For example, this season, Everton was given a 10 point deduction which would put them in 17th place, one point above relegation.  It was reduced to a 6 point penalty on appeal which puts them in 16th place, 5 points clear of relegation. Without the penalty they would be in 13th place and out of the relegation discussion.
