And their personnel is pretty transferrable for the most part. Ā He would be a better choice than Fangio, one of the most over rated coaches in the NFL. Sadly for Frazier, I suspect this is not a serious effort by Miami. Ā One part competitive intelligence gathering, and one part satisfaction of rules. Captain Hindsight
I actually think Frazier would be a good hire for them. Heās steady and with their oddball HC, they could use a serious if not boring presence sometimesĀ
Mister Defense
Frazier's defenses were the best overall in the league during his tenure in Buffalo--what Bills' fans can possibly think he would not make a huge positive difference for the fish's defense? BattlinBill
I'm confused, so when he was here he was horrible and the fans wanted him gone but now that Miami is interested in him he is good again? He was really good for the Bills.Ā 14 hours ago, Nextmanup said: The story was that he needed a year off and was planning to come back in 2024.... Ā If he left on his own accord and is welcome in Buffalo, why isn't he coming to Buffalo? Why is he looking for a job in Miami? Ā Actually, this does disprove the theory. Ā IT was pure BS in the first place; can't imagine anyone actually believed it. Lots of fans don't have much experience in the corporate world. Ā Neither the Bills, nor Frazier, ever said he was coming back to Buffalo. Just that he had decided to take a year off but still wanted to coach beyond that. The chances he was ever coming back here after a year off were next to nil.Ā
GunnerBill
14 hours ago, Einstein said: The theory was that Frazier was done being a DC and would only accept a HC job. Ā The whole taking a year off thing was just code for fired-without-having-the-label-of-fired IMO. Aka, McDermott has such respect for Frazier that he allowed him to leave gracefully. Ā Whose theory was that? That was never what the Bills said. Or what Leslie said. Ā He wasn't fired he stepped down. I know that for a stone cold fact. What Brandon said in the presser, that when they took their week off in Feb and then came back Leslie said "I'm not coming back I want to take a year off" is absolutely true. What prompted that, you can speculate on. My thinking has always been that McDermott had decided to take a greater role in playcalling (either he was going to call the entire game or maybe he was going to do a Rex Ryan and call 3rd down and redzone or something) and Leslie decided that under those circumstances it was better for all concerned if he moved on. Ā Some people here created their own narrative that if he was really not fired presumably he'd be back after his year out but neither the Bills nor Frazier ever committed to that. They didn't totally shut the door, and to do so would have been foolish, but I know, again for a stone cold fact, that Leslie's belief when he stepped away was that would be the end of his stint in Buffalo.Ā
