Maybe the bad call on the fumble the Bills recovered inbounds. But Pickens needs to learn he isnt going to get a ton of DPI calls in the playoffs. And that last play was actually pretty clean by Jackson.

When he first went down and was grabbing lower leg the first thing I thought was Achilles Have to say, an ounce of my heart muscle was at a loss for faith when Bernard went down, then, air cast and cart, and he’s reaction. Told wife, He’s the Allen of the defense. I probably just wanted to justify my heart hurting.

vincec
7 minutes ago, MikePJ76 said: If he went out of bounds, if any part of his body was out of bounds he can not be the first person to touch the ball before re-establishing himself in bounds... hasn't that always been the rule. You can not go out of bounds and then be the first to touch the ball. Its the same as catching it after being oob the way the rule is written. Hasn't this been called a bunch of times on guys trying to recover fumbles and being the first to touch the ball after stepping out of bounds? This is false. The rule you are referring to is for receivers. Once the player has caught the ball he is no longer a receiver. George Pickens dropped in the draft because of having immaturity issues. Seems like not much has changed. 1

CLTbills
Great news that the Bernard injury may only be a sprain. Unlikely to have him this week though, which is no bueno. If we can survive and advance, may get him back longer term. 1

They were saving face, and anyone watching the game knew that was a fumble. Generally when someone has to explain something its because they are feeding you a load of crap. Remember on the first blown call.. we get back from commercial greedland and Romo is explaining why it’s a fumble. But that wasn’t the call! The call was an incomplete pass. So if you’re explaining that IT’S DEFINITELY A FUMBLE, then it’s definitely a completed pass. I won’t say the refs were awful. I’m glad they didn’t go crazy with the whistle. But those too reviewed calls were so terrible. Always side on keeping the play alive, then allow for reviews. The refs did the complete opposite in both instances. And that’s little league stuff.

fergie's ire
7 minutes ago, Bob Jones said: I'm confused too. So you don't have to even recover a fumble if some part of your body is OOB and you touch it?! In this specific instance, if the Steeler wouldn't have touched the ball, could a Bill been OOB, just touched the ball and not secured it, and the Bills would have taken possession? Makes no sense. There was a game recently...maybe in the college football playoffs where this happened. A kickoff rolled to a complete stop about the five yard line and about 2 yards in bound. The returner laid down on his stomach with his feet out of bounds and touched the ball. It was therefore an illegal kick out of bounds and they got the ball out at the 40. Found a link to this example by the Packers a few years back. https://www.sbnation.com/2016/9/25/13049606/packers-kick-return-ty-montgomery-randall-cobb
Matt_In_NH
Does anyone truly understand why the Spector recovery did not count?
