Yes, fumbles or drops are always costly. But benching him isn’t the answer. We’re not in high school here! Cook needs to know that coaches have his back. If Marv Levy was in this situation, Cook would get the ball on the very next play! On a fumble, or drop, he owes one to his teammates and coaches. Give him that opportunity to pay them back. We had at least 5 different players with a drop yesterday, while Cook's was the only that would've been a TD, it's still ridiculous that he's singled out. The only positive, is if Cook hadn't been benched for a time these 2 games, we wouldn't know how good Ty Johnson can be. Not saying he should be ahead of Cook, clearly not, but I can't help but think he would have scored on Cook's muff. I've seen him do it so many times. Allen leaves a disturbing amount of points on the board. He’s so talented that he overcomes a lot of that. But that pass has to be completed to Davis. 80% of starting QB’s complete that pass and win the game. The 3 straight incompletions after 1st down at the philly 31 leading g to the Bass missed FG was also killer. And the turnovers are usually killer too.
