Don Beebe was a great deep threat, but he was the third go-to option on the field for the early 90s Bills’ offense (maybe fourth, after Pete Metzelaars). For my money, the best Bill to wear #82 was Frank Lewis, part of a brilliant receiving tandem with Jerry Butler in the early 80s. With the Bills offensive success in the 90s and recently, we tend to forget how potent that ‘80-‘82 offense was; Lewis was a major cog. Also, as much as I liked Chris Spielman, he only played one complete season for the Bills before his neck injury. At #54, I think I’d go with the late Eugene Marve. Poor guy played on some terrible Bills teams in mid-80s, but he was an absolute tackling machine.

Good call.  I'd also put Aaron Schobel over Mario Williams.

James Lofton should have been #86 IMO.

You know, I initially thought otherwise but when I looked up their stats, they were much closer than I thought.

Mario Williams (11 Seasons):

97.5 sacks

399 combined tackles

16 forced fumbles

Aaron Schobel (9 seasons):

78 sacks

483 combined tackles

21 forced fumbles

In a Bills uni tho Williams drops to 43, 105, 5.

Aaron Schobel is wildly underrated by most fans.  Maybe it was his personality?  If he wore red contacts, had a sack dance,  and talked more crap, he would have been much more popular.

He was the Bobby Murcer of the NFL. Murcer was a very good player but he replaced Micky Mantle in center field. Schobel replaced Bruce, an obvious all time great.

AS was about all we had in terms of pass rush for much of his time here. He was also lined up in ridiculous formations. The man even had 10 sacks in his last season but he was obviously fed up with the stupidity of Bills management.
