They played pretty well today.  I thought they were the better team in 2 of 3 periods.  Tuch and Tage had a rough outing.  Tuch with the awful giveaway on the shorty and unable to capitalize on his own breakaway. Tage was mostly ineffective.

Another blown chance .500

That Clifton turnover sums up the sabres

Keystone Cop like....

They're falling all over the ice tonight.. came out in slow motion, looking lifeless and lacking drive, like they'd rather be somewhere else...heartless

I was hoping they would give me a reason to watch more games

At what point do you move on from the coach?  Seems to me it’s a lot easier to change coaches in the NFL over other leagues.

don seems like great dude. but the time is up. its business and his teams performance is that of regression not progression. last year was fun to a point. thats all gone. back to the drawing board. I miss planning my evenings around the sabres games. Its been a long time id like to get back to that point some time in the next 10 years.

Didn't even bother watching any of the game last night...I mean I work mornings so it was an easy choice but I'm really checking out on the Sabres this year.  I feel like even when they are playing in Eastern time zones I'm gonna have no desire to watch.  Anybody else feeling this way?

It is an unserious franchise.

And Bills fans need to heed this warning.  Be careful what you wish for in Pegula changing management.  The Sabres are the worst-run team in pro sports, and it is not close.  Somehow, McDermott and Beane keep Pegula's bungling insulated from the product.  McDermott also finally exorcized the Russ Brandon demon.

Its a point I've made on main board many times.  Pegulas track record with coaches and GMs is poor.

What do you mean by McDermott exorcizing Russ Brandon demons?

When McDermott was here in the first year, Brandon was still worming around trying to do his meddling, and McDermott swiftly told Pegula to get him far away from him and the football stuff and Pegula complied.

I don't know what to think about Granato.  Still looking at the youngest roster in the league.  I think roster decisions are still driven by development rather than production, and I don't have an issue with that. But it means that winning isn't the only consideration.  Still feels to me like Adams is evaluating the roster and figuring out which young guys are going to be dealt for proven NHL talent.

Tuch and Thompson have been having a rough go lately, particularly with Skinner out of the lineup.  Tage has been nearly invisible which is tough to do at his size.  Tuch is forcing it.

Looks like another team that is primed to take off once they have been eliminated from the playoff picture and have no remaining pressure or expectations.

I’m a huge football fan first. Hockey when they are not a poop show.  Haven’t watched them for ages.  Wouldn’t mind getting back to actually caring about them.

Am I a fair weather fan?  I guess so for hockey.

I agree with a lot of that. IMO the biggest issue the Sabres have and will always have is guys don't want to play here. Its why they end up with guys like Johnson and Clifton. They have to stick to the development process by default. It just going to take longer for this team to get better. As bad as they have been this season, I will take their situation over whats going on on Ottawa. Both teams were supposed to take the next step this season. At least with the Sabres they have shown glimpses of it, where as it's been a tire fire in Ottawa

Pegula got so lucky with Beane, McDermott and most of all Allen. He is an incompetent sports owner.

He's beyond incompetent.  He's the straight up dumbest sports fan you've ever known.

The Sabres have deteriorated into a Mickey Mouse sort of franchise that does not do things on a professional, big league level.

Reminds me of the Bills for about the last 20 years of Ralph's life.

When we miss the playoffs again this year, and DO NOT FIRE GRANATO, you'll see what I mean.

This may be as low as the Sabres franchise has ever sunk, and that is saying a lot!
