The canopy should be just large enough to negate bizarre wind tunnel games like the pats game in 2021. The mere fact that the stadium is 156’ above ground and fully enclosed already negates the wind tunnel effect we get at the old stadium, but I’m interested to see the full effect of the wind panels and canopy shape have on the wind as well. It is less about turf v grass and more about how I hate that when players end a play OOB and while running guys have a change in surface. It just doesn't feel like it is worth the risk. Just make the whole thing grass. It looks to me that the grass extends into the sidelines. How much we can't tell yet. From the video above it looks like only a strip of astro turf is on the sidelines. 1 Quote

WotAGuy Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I think we need separate threads for the extreme shadow effects and also for the dangerous artificial turf sidelines. 2 Quote

I thought the outside mesh of the stadium was for the wind confusion? 43 minutes ago, Charles Romes said: Well, there you have it. Those are some serious canopy shadows. However, I would think a larger roof would reduce the contrast between light and dark because more of the field would be shadowed. Quote

The BN article said they need artificial turf around the outside so vehicles can be driven on it for game day preparations and snow removal. 1 Quote

To me there are just two many plays where players end up running OOB for a turf/grass split to make any sense. Even if the risk is small, it is a $2B project. Just do it right. Quote

It’s done that way in virtually every stadium in the world. The artificial turf is put down around the perimeter to assist with drainage and to keep the sidelines from becoming a muddy mess where all of the people stand during games. 1 Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We need a poll on this shade vs grass/turf field controversy Quote
julian Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Since I’ll never be able to afford a game in person in the new stadium, how will it all look on TV once complete? Quote

I wonder when they do stadium tours if they will let people on the field like they do currently with the old stadium, or keep them off like they do in other real grass stadiums like Lambeau. 6 hours ago, RobbRiddick said: Idiots forgot to put yardage lines on it I heard that Josh did such a great job drawing the Bills logo, that they will have him put the lines down.
