It’s possible for two things to be true: 1. “The establishment” (however you define it) didn’t like an obviously unqualified ignorant person being in charge of the country 2. I know you meant “no jail,” but Chesebro and Ellis are convicted felons right now. Powell got the best deal with just misdemeanors. But those are still crimes. These lawyers will have to fight just to keep their law licenses from being suspended.
