What Are Your Expectations For The 2023 Season?

I don't have any expectations until they make moves along the lines this offseason. If we get don't bigger, more physical, more athletic along the offensive line, I won't expect much more than a wild card berth.

How's that change happen? Bad cap situation, same coaches. Where do the changes come from

Has to come from within. No doubt McD & Beane have their work cut out for them, but 14 wins is nothing to sneeze at. I think we will know better after Day 2 of the draft.

I expect a D that can be more effective all game long, especially in clutch moments. I expect all of our coaches to be able to make multiple and effective adjustments quickly throughout the games when their initial game plan isn’t proceeding as expected, not just at half time.

I don't know about anyone else, but this is what I was hoping for this year especially going into the playoffs. Do I think after the last few years that's gonna change? Nope. Our defense is and will always be under Frazier the equivalent to run, run pass and punt. We've been catching teams off guard early the last few years. Those days are over.

The OP was so long that I couldn't read it all the way through.

When you talk about cutting players dont forget  about dead cap money.

There's always a chance Josh reworks his contract to free up cap space.

Hines' contract isn't guaranteed,is it? I'd try to renegotiate and if Singletary gets an offer the Bills won't match, draft a bigger back.

Brown was hurt and I think he can be serviceable. Morse is much more than "meh" but Bills need a plan in case he gets hurt again. Bates might be better off at LG and good riddance to Saffold.

Poyer, Hamlin and Hyde could ALL be gone. Benford to safety has been floated...could the Bills move to a 4-3 ,dump the nickel and try Taron at safety?

I think it would be stupid not to throw Poyer 7 mil. for next year....and hopefully have a healthy Hyde. They can find a way to do a 2yr. deal with a bonus and an out after one,

Then they can iron things out behind them.

The Bills will need to adjust on Offense. The Offensive Line must improve...No more of that garbage. There's no excuse. We have a cheat code at QB and WR...They have to keep Josh cleaner, and they have to become more multi-scheme...More plays designed to get you 7-15...Cook should be prominent in that role. I think they need another young RB...And I think they need to at very least hit a solid double with a WR in this Draft. It's all do-able...Block better mostly.

They've got a lot of work to do...We'll know more in May...B-)

I've have not observed enough to indicate OBD A) values offense compared to their major AFC competitors B) identifies and acquires talent in the draft and UFA that C) fits an aligned scheme which can succeed in the modern NFL.

This off-season has to be a tremendous departure from previous years when they found a reason not to improve their offense around Josh.  It certainly could happen, but it should not have taken this playoff loss to reveal this gap.

It's interesting that the Bills were the pre-season favorite to win the SB.  It's rare that a team that's never even made the SB is the pre-season favorite the following season.  KC had been the fav in the AFC the past couple of seasons, but not the favorite the year they won it, think NE was.  In the NFC last couple of years Tampa and Rams were favorites again, teams that have at least been there if not won it all.

Not that it's an excuse but it may have been that caused them to be a bit over confident and felt they could just show up and win and slowed down any creativeness particularly on offense.

Yes.  The day of the Bengals game I heard Brandt say that Josh already has his super bowl speech written.  That gave me a sick feeling in my stomach.

For gods sakes, if you.hae it written you DONT tell anyone and put that kind of thing into the universe, because you will get smacked down real quick.

They bought into the hype.

And so did the fans!  We thought it was a given, and didn't show up for the playoffs. Audible who dey chants were heard on my tv and that was before the game got out of hand.

We all need to be better than that.

I could easily see getting bounced from the playoffs next year. This team is not built as a perennial playoff contender. Take Allen out of the equation, and our roster is fairly average. With Allen in the equation, as it stands, Allen will have to play to perfection for us to compete. We really shouldn’t have to rely so much on a single player.

The selling tickets to Atlanta didn't help any either even though the Bengals were doing the same.  But their ticket sales didn't get all the press that the Bills got for doing it.  A good reason for that is the Bills Mafia and how they follow the team far and near so was played up in press as a cool story.  But was't cool to the Bengals and didn't do the B ills any favor fro ma motivational point.

Upgrading the O-line and adding a bona fide consistent receiving threat will make this team always dangerous. And if Miller and Tre regain form (no guarantees) that combined with what I said first makes this team Super Bowl favorites.

No O-line upgrade and no big receiving threat likely means 10-12 wins and and early playoff exit.

I expect them to win the super bowl next year or fire people. That's where we are now.

This is the Bills. In the long run, it may do them good to have a disastrous season not down to injuries and clear the top table. But they’ll probably make the play offs, win the Wildcard before losing one of the next three games due to issues we’ve seen before but it will just be enough for everyone to hang on to their jobs.
