He is nothing special and can easily be replaced by an undrafted free agent. I have no interest in giving either Moss or Singletary a 2nd contract unless they show something this year that we haven't previously seen. In some respect, and please note that I understand that this will never and should never happen, the most logical move would be to ship out Singletary for a pick and keep Blackshear since he's really in the mold of Singletary (lesser runner, but better receiver), and you still have Moss under contract for an additional year. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think another reason the Bills will keep Moss is that they're likely to let Singletary walk this offseason. Moss, then, could be the thunder to Cook's lightning in 2023 (assuming he plays well this season, of course). Cook is the only running back on the roster that I could see getting a second contract. I only believe in giving second contracts to running backs who either offer dynamic, homerun hitting ability, or are serious threats in the passing game. Cook potentially checks both of those boxes. Obviously, it's way too early to declare that he'll be worthy of big money in a few years, but he at least seems to have the skillset that makes it a reasonable conversation. Otherwise, I'm team "don't give second contracts to running backs, especially if you're paying big money to a quarterback". Moss is going to be the short yardage/change of pace guy, and Cook will play a lot as a receiver. When is Singletary's deal up? Waiting post cut the player is a fa can choose if they get multiple offers from nfl teams. No guarantee he signs with nyg.
