Who Do The Democrats Run in 2024?

Irv

Recommended Posts

It doesn't matter who the democrats run.  Biden's poor numbers reflect his performance as well as the public's opposition to the democrat's platform.

The midterms will flip enough seats where the republican's control one and probably both houses.  When that occurs, they will begin hearings on; Hunter Biden, Afghanistan, inflation, Covid response, "insert democratic failure here".  Whomever runs will not be able shed the 24/7 negative coverage, Trump couldn't.

I think the interesting discussion is what is going to occur long term in the House and Senate.  As of today, the midterms will be a generational change from democrats to republicans.  Incumbents are typically hard to unseat and republicans should have a comfortable majority in both houses after the midterms.

Could the midterms put congress in republican hands for the next 10+ years?

They're so desperate, they're actually talking about running Mayor Pete.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The Repubs have all the ammo they need.  Just keep hammering-home what a mess this admin is and how the Dems are trying to install Marxism.

Billstime,

Put down the bong.  Take a deep breath.  Get your head around the fact that, after 10 months of Demented Biden, the GOP could run a bag of steaming dog crap against him and win.  What a mess.

Before folks get all excited —

Republicans should be very happy to see that a generic/unnamed Republican would beat Joe Biden if the presidential election were held today.
Democrats should be very happy to see that there is no such beast as a “generic Republican.” There are only Republican humans with huge negatives in favorability ratings, and those Republicans are either named Trump or they have to publicly and embarrassingly kowtow to Trump to have any chance to make it through the primaries.

Doesn't matter.  People see the disaster Joey and Kammy have been up close.  They have no chance if they run.  Mayor Pete?  LOL!  Might as well not nominate anyone.

Who else ya got?

Who else does either side got?
Right now it looks like both sides have extraordinarily weak benches, the least insofar as candidates who could potentially make it through the primaries goes.

Joe v. Donny II, the thrilla in Manila? I don’t think so.

It's the economy stupid.

Should be their focus if they want to win.  Stay away from Marxism (most people don't even know what it is), transgender locker rooms, and the war on Christmas.

It's the economy stupid.

Demented Marionette  Biden and his communist buddies have botched things up so bad, they should let the GOP candidate run unopposed and focus on 2028.  What a mess.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Atlanta, I’m more concerned about the GA Gov race.

I rather enjoy residing in states where I’m not fearful of lockdowns, mandates and an authoritarian local government.

Stacey Abrams is about as strong as a contender that the Dems can put forth in Georgia and GA Republicans are obsessed with recycling weak, low enthusiasm candidates like Kemp & Perdue that generate zero excitement and make no attempt at going after the black vote… particularly the black male vote in/around the city.

The economy will obviously be a huge issue.  And sure, say "socialism/Marxism" instead, but definitely say it and explain what Marxism is.  Most people don't want it, including a lot of Dems.

81 MILLION VOTES:

I&I/TIPP Poll Stunner: Just 22% Of Americans Want Joe Biden To Run For President Again.

“Even Democrats seem less than enthused about Biden holding the top spot. Just 37% want him there. And only 16% give Harris the nod as presidential standard-bearer, alarming given that Vice President Harris is next in line to be president should Biden not complete his term in office.”

If Biden isn’t going to run again, he’ll have to announce within the next 12-18 months (18 would really be pushing it) to give Democrat contenders time enough to spin up their money machines and ground organizations.

The resulting scramble — against the backdrop of a failed-but-sitting Democrat president, no less — will be delicious.

PROOF THE DEMOCRATS HAVE NO BENCH IS THAT THEY’RE FLOATING THIS IDEA:

Hillary 2024? Given the competition, she may be the Dems’ best hope.

“The Democratic bench is about as deep as the New York Jets’ these days.

Vice President Kamala Harris? She’s at 28 percent approval, per USA Today.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo? No longer governor and thoroughly disgraced.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.)? He had to spend major time and resources just to avoid being ousted in deep-blue California during a recall election earlier this year.

Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg? Not even 40 percent, and he has a supply chain crisis on his resume.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)?

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.)?”

Nothing says “party of youth” like a retread Hillary campaign.

PUSHING GRANDPA OFF THE CLIFF:

Democrats Prepare To Dump Joe Biden Now That He’s Served His Purpose.

The truth is that establishment Democrats wanted Joe, and they selected him, despite his age and numerous warning signs regarding his mental acuity. He was the blank canvas on which anything could be written, and he could be sold as a “moderate.”

As Bernie Sanders surged in the polls in early 2020 with 45 delegates after the first three primaries and Joe languished in a distant third place with 15, the party took control. Rep. Jim Clyburn stepped in and delivered an influential endorsement in South Carolina that pushed African-American support to Biden’s campaign, propelling him to victory. Stories immediately appeared claiming Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Pete Buttigieg had “no realistic path to the nomination.”

Despite trailing early in fundraising behind the well-organized Sanders fundraising machine, the Democrat establishment pivoted to push donations to Biden. As the NYT admitted in an article at the time, “The elite world of billionaires and multimillionaires has remained a critical cog in the Biden money machine.” Bernie’s small-dollar donors were no match for the large bundles of corporate and PAC cash.

With a lot of help from a sycophantic media, Biden was elected president of the United States, without serious inquiry regarding his physical and mental abilities. Now, suddenly, it’s time to plan Joe’s exit before the new Oval Office carpet has fully settled in place?

Biden might not be all he used to be (and he never was much) but he knows how Washington works — and I can’t imagine him going without a fight.

ONE-TERM BIDEN:

Democrats Already Trying to Position Themselves for 2024.

Have you noticed that Elizabeth Warren keeps putting herself in front of every new current thing? When Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter was the hot story, she put herself front and center, then did the same thing with abortion.

Do you think this is a coincidence, or is it more likely that Warren is trying to remind Democrat voters that she is standing by, ready to jump in when they drop Biden?

It’s not just Warren who’s doing this. Bernie Sanders has recently said that he is prepared to run again.

PINCER MOVEMENT TO DUMP BIDEN TAKING SHAPE

It’s pretty clear that the left is organizing to dump Joe Biden when it becomes evident that he’s a certain loser in 2024. Rather that waiting for a Ted Kennedy-like figure to challenge him in the 2024 primaries, which would likely doom Democrats to certain defeat, the left will need to push him out early, and clear the calendar for one or more Democrats to organize a serious presidential campaign. (It goes without saying the Democratic Party intelligentsia knows that Kamala Harris is a hopeless candidate.)

There really isn’t a towering Ted Kennedy-like figure in the Democratic Party today. It is worth recalling that in the summer of 1979, as Kennedy was considering a challenge to Jimmy Carter, a steady stream of Democrats all quietly urged Kennedy to run, including more conservative Democrats like Scoop Jackson and Pat Moynihan, to further left figures like John Culver and Frank Church. Their motive was the same—they wanted to save their own skins. (And in fact Culver and Church went down in the Reagan 1980 landslide.)

The left’s pincer move to force Biden to step aside will have three clear parts.

First, we can expect a steady drumbeat of media stories such as the latest from mainstream political reporter Ronald Brownstein. His latest headline: “Is Biden a Man Out of Time?” What Brownsteain’s article makes clear is that the media and the Democratic base wish Biden would be even more aggressively leftist and polarizing:

An array of frustrated Democrats this week openly complained that Biden and other administration officials had failed, in their initial reactions to the [Dobbs] ruling, to reflect the urgency and anguish of abortion-rights supporters. Although Biden quickly denounced the decision last week, he has avoided any broader condemnation of the Court’s direction or legitimacy and dismissed proposals for changing its structure. . . Biden’s earlier tepid reaction had drawn loud alarms across the party.

{snip}

The second part of the pincer move will be party insiders who start publicly dumping on Biden. This week it is David Axelrod, the impresario of Barack Obama’s rise to power. Appearing on CNN, Axelrod said that “There is this sense that things are kind of out of control and he’s not in command.”

“Not in command” is a euphemism for you-know-what.

Then there is the polling data, which will be the third part of the pincer move to oust Biden.

If the Dems were smart they would run Michelle Obama…they could frame  it as ‘the first woman president could be black’ and condemn anyone who criticizes her political views as racist AND sexist…it’s a leftist wet dream…😉

Nominate this moron and Covid lockdown champ.

Meanwhile.....rules for thee not me continue:

Newsom finally reveals his whereabouts

Gov. Gavin Newsom is on vacation in Montana visiting family, I was the first to report Tuesday evening.

It was information that the governor’s office appeared loath to disclose. Although the office said Friday the governor had left California to spend time with family, it did not until Tuesday answer questions about where he was or when specifically he would return, a noticeable difference from communication surrounding other recent out-of-state trips. (A spokesperson said Tuesday Newsom hasn’t yet booked his return trip, but that he will return to California over the weekend and be back in the office on Monday.)

The governor’s office didn’t respond to a question about why that information wasn’t initially shared. But one possible reason could be that Montana is among the 22 states to which California has banned state-funded and state-sponsored travel, citing policies it deems discriminatory to LGBTQ+ people.

https://calmatters.org/newsletters/whatmatters/2022/07/gavin-newsom-montana/

Boycotts and travel bans (yea sure state funded ones but that is still beyond disgusting) are coming to states that ban abortion.

This all ends well.
