The school has to pull books that are questioned by parents and will possibly return them to shelves if they are not on the pre-approval list. We also discussed books being bought for next year, of which 40 are not on pre approved list but it is public info for 60 days before we buy it. The only books our school has had to pull so far was one that was a military book with a rather graphic rape scene, that will not be returned, and 6 books that have been returned, all having to do history of evil minorities, such as Idi Amin and Papa Doc.
