nedboy7
Just read U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil's opinion, leaning heavily on the arguments of Fox's lawyers: The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' " She wrote: "Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes." Ultimately, high ratings being the name of the game for the network, make management hesitant to pull the plug. Most interesting are his frequent guests representing liberal populist views which exposes his mostly conservative audience to views they won't hear elsewhere. Generally classical liberal anti-big government and anti-big corporation views which most liberal media outlets won't touch. As contemporary liberalism has been captured by the DC establishment and mega-corporations. Providing different perspectives and a realization which is dangerous to the establishment. That being left and right ordinary citizens share common positions on many issues. That's the thing establishment politicians fear most. People on the left and right concluding they have much in common deciding to unite in a common populist cause against their real enemy. The DC Swamp. B-Man
Tucker Carlson Obtains DOJ Subpoena Targeting Trump Associate, Details Disturbing Demands FTA: To put it frankly, it is chilling to think that the DOJ could base an investigation on something that is clearly under the bounds of free speech. And to be clear, it is completely irrelevant whether Mike Pence had the above-mentioned authority or not. Americans are allowed to hold opinions, and they are allowed to discuss those opinions, even if they don’t hold up to factual scrutiny. It is a violation of the First Amendment for the government to criminally target individuals based simply on what they said unless it is a direct incitement to violence or a threat. Nothing about that passage is either of those things. In other words, the DOJ is firmly in the territory of trying to prosecute thought crimes. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/09/13/tucker-carlson-obtains-doj-subpoena-targeting-trump-associate-details-disturbing-demands-n626659 .
