Which means there will likely be even more veterans released over the next 24 hours.

I've noticed some panic on this board, as many of the top free agents get snatched up for big bucks.

But you will also notice that cap space is also quickly dwindling away...

By Thursday or Friday, I would expect the Bills to start getting involved and landing some bargains.

Maybe or maybe the Chiefs continue to add top end talent or the Patroits continue adding more big time players.  To say the Bills have done anything to improve is fake news.  I hope your right because your not improving unless your adding talent

lol, Bears.

$20M over, only 53 players on roster. Who do they even cut? And they suck.

With no franchise QB salary roster to boot.

Problem is youre failing to mention the players the Chiefs had to cut. Nor are you mentioning Cam Newton being the Patriots starting QB.  Pretty sure good teams hardly ever spend big in free agency.  Why?  Because they draft well and pay their own good players.

Yes, they have to stay under the cap at the end of every day.

Some teams will look like they are over on Spotrac/OTC but that is unofficial.

They official numbers are kept my the NFL.

Yup.  Also tags do not count until they are signed.  I believe that NO is now under the cap because Marcus Williams hasn’t signed his franchise contract yet.  When he does the Saints will have 24 hours (or is it 48?) to get back under.

I'm not sure.  There seems to be leeway in system somewhere.

Yeah, you're right. None of the reason we improved so much last year had anything to do with guys who were already on the roster improving. Josh Allen's improvement last year really had nothing to do with us winning more games. It was all just those FAs we got, and Epenesa and our draftees.

So it's 4:40pm. What have these teams done to get under cap?

Philly had to do something if this went through.  Andrew Brandt said all transactions would be rejected,  always have to be under the cap

Agree the Bills haven't done anything to improve yet.

But I wouldn't exactly consider the Patriots adds "big time" talent.

Their best signings were the Tight Ends.  Would you even put Jonnu Smith or Hunter Henry in the league's Top 10 tight ends?  I'm not sure I would.

Nelson Agholar would be our #5 wide receiver.

This is an interesting thread. It’s 5pm and a handful of teams  are still over, with no significant cuts.... what am I missing

Where are you seeing this?   The only number that counts is the one kept by the NFL, not spotrac or over the cap.

But in all seriousness...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salary_cap#National_Football_League

"The NFL's cap is a hard cap that the teams have to stay under at all times, and the salary floor is also a hard floor. Penalties for violating or circumventing the cap regulations include fines of up to $5 million for each violation, cancellation of contracts and/or loss of draft picks."

You forgot the double secret conditional draft picks to New England.

This was replaced in the last CBA with death by having to attend every BB press conference for one year.

Watch out for flying phones!

If we do sign Ertz, can we also call “dibs” on his first born? That child is gonna be an athletic monster.

With that parentage, here's the next coach of 'your Buffalo Sabres'!

Guessing there are some moves - mostly restructures - that haven’t made their way to Spotrac and OTC.

I'm more surprised they havent been tweeted about by the media tho. The Bears had some big moves to make to drop $20M.

Although they did restructure Mack this week to save about $10M, and I'm not sure that was counted in spotrac's $20M figure.
