This as well

He keeps saying it feels better now than it did earlier this week but that doesn’t make sense given the injury. He can play on it - actually Rivers had it too when we played him  - but it doesn’t just get better if you continue to play on it. Most players with it miss time. He will need a metal plate and a shot I assume.

Remember when EJ Manuel "threw" Watkins into that ankle injury in the end zone?   I was a bad throw, but come on man, Watkins was so brittle.   So good to have traded him away to another team who can deal with that.

IMO, Watkins has always possessed tremendous talent that has never consistently manifested on the field. The fact is that he is receiver with a career 58 catch percentage who struggles to stay on the field. I had no problem when they decided to let him go and I have no personal animosity toward him. I have more of an issue with Whaley for what he gave up to get Watkins, than I do with Watkins himself for not living up to the expectations that came with it.

Hopefully the Bills will help by giving him a few shots... Pain in other areas of the body help with Toe pain. ;)

At the very least, there will be certain plays that Reid isn’t going to call. Bills need to make him very uncomfortable in the pocket. There is a reason he got hurt against the Browns.

Exactly.  It's never a player's fault when a team drafts him too high, or gives up too much to get him.  The player does what he can do.  Watkins showed flashes of brilliance but could never keep himself intact enough to excel.

Yea agreed. Don’t remember which foot it was on Rivers but it’s Mahomes left, his plant foot, so sort of a big deal. And generally the toe gets worse the more you play on it, not better.

Running is actually a big part of Mahomes game, though not talked about much. He loves to run on 3rd downs. I wonder how much this limits him?

mahomes is the luckiest qb in the league when chucking up passes that should be picked off but aren’t.

Bills need to rush with discipline, keep him bottled up in the pocket and his mechanics may get thrown off with that injury.

Sure hope his toe doesn’t get stepped on a lot during the first quarter... nudge nudge wink wink...

Bell not playing in a Chiefs AFCC game?  Might as well wear the McCoy jersey under the hoodie....

Where did it manifest?

Anyone on this board ever have turf toe? It's obviously painful and takes forever to heal. I'm wondering if (when) he gets shots in it to numb it throughout the game, if that makes him able to use/ push off with that foot normally. I'm guessing he's been practicing this week with the shots to realize what It's going to feel like and what limitations he has. Probably a strange sensation having that part of the foot numb... but how debilitating is that?

It was never his fault where he was drafted. I will say it’s his fault that he alligator arms passes, avoids contact by running out of bounds frequency, and has stated that he was always drunk and high while in Buffalo. I don’t think I’m making a blind assumption, in his own words the effort wasn’t there when he was drafted.
