I told my boss I needed Saturday night off, it's a fairly new job so it was whatever. He said he wasn't going to give me off so I told him I was going to not be in. He said ok then you're fired.....

Makes sense. Not showing up for work can get you fired.

Looks like your priorities are in order.

This was a new job and not really a real career. Now I got the extra unemployment

If you got fired for not showing up to work then you dont qualify for unemployment. At least thats how it is here in AZ.

Someone that quits a new job should not be allowed unemployment. It's the type of gloating about to that gets those people in trouble hopefully also.

If his company fights his unemployment claim there is a good chance he won't get anything other than what his deal was before even then now his old employer could fight his original claim since he was employed for a time

Note I have no clue how covid laws work now

I love everyone pretending like this is the end of the road and such a terrible mistake.  It seems like a new job, not a career position, and in his/her own words "whatever"

What is the job op?  Don't need to name company but how about industry?

Go bills

No judgements, but I can only assume you're one or more of the following:

Young

Single

No Children

No obligations

No liabilities

No worries

If you are, I'm actually kind of envious. Good luck with future employment. Go Bills!
