We got the best WR in the NFL and I'm glad we got the right one last spring.

I mean I wouldn't want him getting distracted on BS but if this is a narrative in Arizona it sounds pretty dumb.

I totally agree.  Hopkins leads the league in receiving yards.  Who gives a crap if he gets Wednesdays off to stay fresh.  If anything it seems like a strategy that’s working extremely well.

So wait, he gets the vet day off with...wait for it...other vets...and also missed a week of practice with injury. Then leads the league in receiving?

WTF is going on with AZ sports media? Seems like a giant nothing burger. Maybe it will get some legs. But right now this seems much ado about nothing.

Something to think about, Diggs slides more than any WR I have seen in my life. If this team were .500 we would be railroading him out of town for that stuff.

I'm not sure how much of that is on Diggs I think he only ever does that after he's gotten the first down and well away from the endzone. Seems like maybe a team message/plan that if you've got it and are surrounded get down and don't take the big hit we need you down the stretch.

Yeah. Wasn’t hating on it. Just sort of flipping the script. AZ sports media is full of poop.

in fact I think it’s safe to say that he’s probably nice and beat up and playing through plenty and should be praised, but....

kind of exactly the point. It’s dumb to criticize a great player doing what works to get through the season and perform elite.

No reason to wear your body down just for the sake of it.

He does, but if his history in Minnesota is any indication those slides start turning into extra effort yardage in the playoffs.

So Hopkins has missed practice due to vet rest days and due to injury, and this is supposed to be an issue?

He's arguably been the the best WR in the league for several years.  He goes hard every play every game and he takes a serious beating.

I love me some Diggs and I'm super-glad we got him this by no means indicates Diggs better than Hopkins, just some fans or media dumber than rocks about what the grind is like in the NFL.

Diggs already puts in the extra effort when it counts.  He blocks like a SOB.  He puts his shoulder down and fights for the YAC when he needs the first down or the endzone's in reach.  When he has the first down why should he take the extra lickin'?  Smart to slide, protect the ball and potentially draw the UR penalty if someone hits him anyway.

Agree completely. I’m just pointing out that he tends to stop sliding in the playoffs when every game is do or die. To reiterate... I’m just talking about the sliding and not any other aspect of his game.

right- it’s dumb for a CB to take on derrick Henry in preseason or when eliminated from the playoffs, but 4th quarter of the super bowl very few are shying away from contact.

I think some lost contact with that idea with us having such a long run of mediocrity. Saving gas for when it matters is actually a real consideration for nfl players.

Not sure it's this big of deal, but he should at least recognize that him being at practice isn't *just* about him and his ability may, for example, make the CBs better or he may have insight to help out Murray. Now given his production, as a team, I'd probably have a conversation with him about it and that would be the end of it if he didn't want to practice.

I agree...we gain yards like they are going out of style, so it's not like the one extra yard is going to matter too much.

There are players on the Bills who probably haven't practiced on Wednesday's in 2 years due to vet rest days. What is the big deal?  It's not like they are padded practices anyways. It would be one thing if the man was doing terrible, but all he does is lead the league in receiving and make tough catch after tough catch.

When you are arguably the league’s best for a sustained period you have earned the right to make your own rules.

Or LT Rules.

Wherever I read it recently I don't recall, but, Diggs is the only player with 1300+ yds from scrimmage not to have lost a fumble.  When he gives up on a play there are multiple defenders involved, he has gotten the key yardage to be gained and by doing so he protects both himself and the ball.  I am totally ok with it.  He is not pulling a Kyle Orton.
